Newsmax TV was founded in 1998 by journalist and current CEO Christopher Ruddy. This American free-to-air all-news channel is available free online. The channel is owned by Newsmax Media. The channel launched in 2014 to 35 million satellite subscribers through DirecTV and Dish Network. As of February 2018, the network reaches over 50 million homes.

The channel is considered to be conservative since many of the programs it broadcasts are conservative talk show hosts.

History

In September 2018, the company launched a deal with Comcast which will enable the channel to operate on America’s largest cable network.

Altice USA also struck a deal with Newsmax TV which will allow Optimum and Suddenlink customers to watch the channel who have the expanded basic package.

The channel is broadcast out of New York but has headquarters located in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Citing discrimination on dating sites such as Tinder and Bumble, Christy Lawton decided to start her own dating app platform. Launched in late 2018, the app is slightly different than others in that women must initiate the conversation and men are not only expected to pay for the first date, but women are encouraged to report them on the app if they don’t.

Like most dating apps, a swipe left means you are not interested in a persons profile and a swipe right means that you are. Many profiles on Righter include the person’s personal and political views, as well as their pertinent information.

History

The app is very new, but some people have talked about how few people appear to be using the site. Founder and CEO Christy Lawton stated that there are thousands of users and she expected the selection of profiles to grow tremendously by the end of 2019.

History

In 2013, the company acquired its reseller, Vu Analytics, for an undisclosed amount. Forbes noted in 2017 that Anaplan was quickly gaining on competitor Oracle and that it had experienced “hyper-growth” in the 7 years since its launch.

The company went public on the NYSE in October 2018 under the ticker symbol PLAN and by February of 2019, the stock had already increased more than 10%.

Harmon Discount was founded in 1971. Although many people will always remember this discount store as Harmon Discount, its name was changed to Harmon Face Value in the mid-2000s, after it became a subsidiary of Bed Bath and Beyond.

Bed Bath and Beyond acquired the company in 2002. Many Bed Bath and Beyond locations include a “store within a store”, with a section set aside for Harmon Face Value products.

Since being acquired by BBB, the company has expanded to become one of the leading health, beauty and cosmetics retailers with 56 separate locations in the states of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The company provides a wide range of products and services related to health and beauty, including creams, lotions, and shampoo.

Harmon Face Values offers leading brands, including John Frieda, Nexxus, Fekkai, Organix, Pantene, Tresemme, and Marc Anthony. Additionally, the company provides its own Face Values brands on several beauty and health items. New stores, such as a New York store that opened in 2016, offered some typical BBB items, such as bedding, and even a few grocery items, such as milk, to help compete with small drug stores or convenience stores.

In January 2023, due to the poor performance of most Bed Bath and Beyond stores, all Harmon Face Values will close in the next few weeks.
