Twitch TV, also known as Twitch Interactive, or simply Twitch, was launched in 2006 as Justin.TV. At the time, the site was divided into several content categories but the gaming section grew incredibly fast, quickly becoming the dominating content sector.

The company decided to spin off the gaming content as Twitch TV in 2007.

In July 2023, Chess streamer Alyssazhu was streaming live on Twitch from a park when her camera was knocked over before a racist rant against one of her opponents.

Global TV was founded in 1974. The company originally decided to show Canadian-only programming between the prime hours of 5 PM to midnight and let the earlier daytime hours broadcast to post educational content from the Ontario Educations Communications Authority.

However, the OECA decided to use their own transmitters and Global TV began broadcasting full-time.

The Canadian-only programming idea quickly bombed and American programs were used to fill in the gaps.

Today, the Global Television Network, known more commonly as Globe or Global TV, is Canada’s second most-watched private terrestrial television network, second only to CTV.

The company is a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment.

In March 2022, the company avoided filing for bankruptcy by amending and restating its existing syndicated senior secured credit facilities with its bank group.

Sling TV is an American streaming television service that offers video on demand, local channels, and major cable channels which can be streamed via smart TVs and digital media players, such as Roku.

In September 2020, Sling TV announced Sling Watch Party, a co-viewing feature that allows people from different locations to watch live TV together simultaneously.

In 2021, the company announced a new version of Sling called Sling Free, where viewers would be able to watch limited programming for free by watching advertisements.

The company will be showing the 2022 Superbowl game and offering special deals for new subscribers.

Sling also showed the 2022 Winter Olympics via the NBC channel.

In February 2023, the company announced it would launch FreeStream, an ad-supported streaming service that would be free but would make switching to the pay version easy.

one america news logo 2Originally launched with the intention of targeting a conservative and center to right-wing audience, OAN states that its goal is to deliver credible national and international news coverage.  The channel is highly pro-Trump. Vanity Fair, The Independent, and others have stated that the channel promotes falsehoods and conspiracy theories, rather than news coverage.

The channel launched in 2014 to 35 million satellite subscribers through DirecTV and Dish Network. As of February 2018, the network reaches over 50 million homes.

Newsmax TV hosts The channel is considered to be conservative since many of the programs it broadcasts are conservative talk show hosts.

In September 2018, the company launched a deal with Comcast which will enable the channel to operate on America’s largest cable network. 

Newsmax TV advertisement  Altice USA also struck a deal with Newsmax TV which will allow Optimum and Suddenlink customers to watch the channel who have the expanded basic package.

The channel is broadcast out of New York but has headquarters located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
