History

Today, the company is the number 1 furniture retailer in Southern Florida. The original store is still in operation and there are now 15 City Furniture locations and 12 Ashley Furniture showrooms throughout the state. After touring numerous countries, Naficy wanted to bring the art of the world and use it in unique ways that did not involve retail. Minted operates an online marketplace of independent artists and designers who sell their products on the website.

The company began by offering stationery and invitations, but by 2012 was offering wall prints, party decor, and pillowcases. More than $90 million has been raised via Crowd Sourcing for expansion of the company, which operates in 60 countries and all 50 states. In 2008, the company began a program called “Design Challenge”, where artists submit their work for a particular project, participants vote, and the winner’s products are sold online.
