UpWay Ebikes Corporate Office

Upway E-bikes, more commonly known as simply Upway was founded in France in 2019. The founders realized that there were thousands of E-bikes that needed repair. They began with a repair shop, then decided to sell their refurbished electric and hybrid bicycles.

While consumers can purchase a used E-bike on eBay or Craigslist, most people feel better with some type of warranty. Upway offers a full 14-day, no-questions-asked return period and a full 1-year warranty on repairs.

The company quickly made a name for itself in Europe, and in early 2023, Upway began offering its refurbished e-bikes for sale in the USA from its warehouse in New York.

Upway also offers new e-bikes for sale but the overwhelming majority of its business is from the sale of refurbished bikes, which saves consumers thousands of dollars over the price of a new bike.

In November 2023, the company raised $30 million in Series B funding to increase its shipping capacity within the US.

In some states, buyers can qualify for tax credits and subsidies for purchasing refurbished e-bikes.
