Rothy’s was founded in 2015 after Roth Martin & Stephen Hawthornthwaite decided that women’s shoes should be comfortable, but made from recycled materials.

Rothy’s is a direct-to-consumer shoe company. All products are made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles and hemp.

In 2020, the company expanded its product line to include beach totes and handbags.

History

In May 2021, Rothy’s introduced a line of men’s shoes.

Due to competitors copying the design and selling the shoes for cheaper prices, the company has made a significant effort to protect the brand from counterfeits and imitators. As of March 2019, 31 patent’s had been issued, with some 40 cases pending.

The shoes are very popular both for their sustainability as well as their style and washability. Megan Markle and others are known to wear Rothy’s.

Lonnie and Barbara Allsup started a drive-through grocery service in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1956. This small chain of stores was sold to 7-11 in 1963. The Allsup’s started their convenience stores in Clovis, New Mexico, in 1964.

The company operates a chain of convenience stores and gas stations across the west. Allsup’s was the first convenience store to provide self-service gas stations.

Allsup’s is the largest convenience store operator in New Mexico and is ranked as New Mexico’s #1 privately owned corporation.

History

In October 2019, YesWay stores acquired Allsup’s Mark Allsup will be the CEO of this merger.

In September 2020, all stores received point-of-sale security upgrades to prevent fraud.

In June 2021, Allsup’s chimichangas were named the best gas station/convenience store food by the website Eater.Com.

In October 2023, the company announced that it would ship its famous burritos to customers’ homes. Currently, a 6-pack of bean and beef burritos is $50.

Tom Aulet has always been a fitness fan, but he found many pieces of workout equipment boring.

Aulet changed that when he put his video game company to work creating games and races that people would find fun. This gaming-inspired workout program was then put in a rowing machine, made by WaterRower Club.

Ergatta was founded in 2018 and is an American-based company. Software is produced in New York, and the machine is manufactured in Boston, Massachusetts.

History

Made from cherry wood, this rowing machine is unique in that is uses games and racing to inspire workouts, rather than the typical classroom or gym studio setting.

While the company was launched in 2018, the rowing machine only went on the market in March 2020, just when the Covid pandemic and quarantine started, which was a blessing in disguise for Ergatta.

The company received a valuation of $200 million in July 2021.

Sometimes called the Peloton of rowing machines, Ergatta is giving Peloton a run for its money after Peloton’s recent problems with treadmills and service.

Silicon Motion Technology Corporation was formed as the combination of Silicon Motion, Inc., which was established in 1995 in Silicon Valley in the United States, and Feiya Technology Corporation, which was founded in 1997 in Taipei, Taiwan.

The company develops NAND flash controller integrated circuits, AKA ICs, for solid-state storage devices. The company states that it supplies more NAND flash controllers than any other company in the world with over five billion sold between 2006 through 2016.

These components are found in commercial, enterprise, and industrial applications ranging from SSDs, eMMCs, memory cards, and USB flash drives.

In December 2016 the company received “2016 Best Financially Managed Company” presented by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).

Silicon Motion Technology is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol SIMO.

History

In August 2019, Eligo Energy paid the state of Illinois $3 million for what the state called “fraudulent claims.” The State of Illinois alleged that the company and its sales representatives used aggressive and deceptive tactics to enroll customers in the ComEd territory into unnecessarily expensive contracts for electricity.
