Founded in 1973, Irby Street Sporting Goods has been through three owners and two building changes, but it remains one of the largest and best place to buy sporting goods equipment in the Pee Dee area.

The company has a very large assortment of products, including more than 1,000 fishing rods and reels in stock, fishing boats, archery bows, camping equipment, rifles, even a complete archery range.

History

The store has moved locations from the old 1,200-square-foot building to its current 7,000-square-foot store, and it added a six-lane, 25-yard indoor archery range with a full bow shop.

Current owner and CEO Todd Stewart says he loves seeing long-time customers bring in their kids and continue the tradition of hunting or archery.

MiMedX was founded in 2008 by Parker Petit. The company is a biomedical corporation that uses tissues from birth such as the placenta, amniotic sac, and umbilical cord, to create skin for skin grafts.

In August 2018, CEO Petit listed had his $15 million mansion in the Florida Panhandle for sale. The New York Post called him “the Trump of Georgia”. Petit is a top Republican fundraiser in Georgia, as well as being the finance chair for Trump’s 2016 campaign.

In May 2019, Timothy Wright had been named as CEO.

History

By August 2019, 13 of 16 executives were no longer with MiMedx. The company stated that Petit, Taylor, Senken, and former Controller John Cranston had ordered the installation of a secret video surveillance system to expose and undermine whistleblowers, called Project Snow White.

They also stated the four had “repeatedly misled or withheld information” from auditors, including Petit in a sworn deposition and Senken in a letter to the SEC. They stated Petit and Taylor “purposely took action to disregard revenue-recognition rules”

On April 6, 2020, MiMedx settled a DOJ lawsuit regarding MiMedx charging inflated prices to the VA Department. The company agreed to pay $6.5 million to settle the suit, which was uncovered through whistleblowers.

MiMedx’s application to relist its common stock on the NASDAQ was approved on October 30, 2020.

In June 2021, the company announced that it would soon release new drugs that would improve treatment methods for tendonitis.

MiMedX maintains a corporate office in Marietta, Georgia.

The company sells men’s and women’s sportswear, footwear, and accessories.

The company works on a membership program and currently has more than 50 brick-and-mortar locations, as well as an active e-commerce site.

Fabletics has a membership program that allows shoppers to become “VIP Members,” with access to special membership discounts and perks as well as offering its members personalized outfits chosen for them based on their lifestyle and fashion preferences, and releases capsules weekly in sizes XXS-4X for women and monthly in sizes XS-XXL for men.

 Fabletics has released a number of capsules with notable brand partners, including Maddy Ziegler, Kelly Rowland, and others.

In April 2021, Kevin and Eniko Hart released The Hart Collection, the brand’s first capsule designed for men and women.

Co-founder Kate Hudson stated in a July 2021 interview that she was trying to make the clothing company use sustainable resources but that doing so was much more difficult than it sounds.

In 1972 Robert Ragge opened a travel agency in a former greengrocer’s shop in Cologne, Germany, which specialized in arranging hotel rooms during trade fairs.

In 1986, HRS published an international hotel directory with fixed prices.  In addition, a computer-aided reservation system was introduced in the 1980s, which formed the basis for the presence in the on-screen text.  

After 1989, HRS was the first provider to make electronic bookings possible.  Customers were presented with a list of free hotel rooms that could previously only be accessed by telephone.  In 1995 the company started the first online portal for hotel bookings in what was the new medium, called the Internet. This meant a significant boost for the business and faxes and phone orders were slowly discontinued.

Today, HRS is a global company with offices in New York, New York, and Dallas, Texas.

The company earns revenue via bookings. Booking via HRS is free of charge for travelers, but hoteliers pay a standard commission of 15%.

The company also offers more than 500,000-holiday homes and apartments.  A special feature of the platform is that there is no need to inquire about availability from the providers, as all accommodations can be booked directly by travelers.

HRS is one of the market leaders in this area. Major customers are, for example, Google, Siemens, and Toyota.

In May 2021, the German high court stated that Bookings.Com and HRS must remove slogans such as “best price” or “lowest price” when booking rooms in Germany.
