CoverGirl was founded in 1961 by the Noxzema Chemical Company. Originally having only 6 products, the makeup was marketed as being a “medicated” makeup line with Noxzema’s face cream ingredients of menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus.
Model and actress Jennifer O’Neil, who was 15 in 1963, began working for CoverGirl as their model. Her 30-year product endorsement made CoverGirl the top-selling brand of makeup in the US. Cybill Shepard was another model for the company, advertising the more natural look of the 1960s and 1970s, establishing the “girl next door” look.
The company has used numerous models for their makeup lines, including singer Katy Perry, comedian and talk show host Ellen Degeneres, along with long-time model Christie Brinkley, who greatly increased company sales when her advertising campaign debuted in 1985.
The company was once one of the largest global brands to conduct animal testing, but this is no longer true.
CoverGirl hired a male model for their makeup line and New York resident James Charles was recently named one of the 25 Most Influential People on the Internet by Time Magazine.
The company was acquired by Coty, Inc., in 2016.
CoverGirl launched an entire line of cosmetics specifically for women of color in late 2018.
The company also opened its first store in Times Square, New York, in 2018, which features augmented reality, where clients can “try on” various makeup looks via a computer program.
CoverGirl Lash Blast mascara has been the top-selling mascara for 15 years, selling one product every 7 minutes, according to CoverGirl.
Headquarters are located in New York, New York

Have you noticed that on E-bay they are selling your Single Pink Chiffon Eye Shadow for $39.99 plus shipping? That should be incentive for Covergirl to bring back that shade of eyeshadow. Please do, obviously I am not alone in missing this shade, unable to find alternative anywhere.
I need original formula midnight brown eye brow pencil, it is the only that works!!!!

I use Cover Girl Clean Professional loose powder, but can’t find the right shade for me. So I mix the #105 translucent fair and the #110 translucent light. Is there a shade of loose powder in between these two colors so I don’t need to mix it myself?

I love 24 hr lip stain but one can only use the middle of the tube..Cannot access the lipstick at the bottom or at the top..Plz change your container..It is such a rip off to pay over $8 for just getting the middle of lipstick..I’m switching to revlon
I find your commercial with Ms Musk insulting. As a 73 year old I can assure that I still care. However, I don’t always wear make-up I have chosen to go out and about without make-up since I was old enough to wear make-up (early teens). There must be a better way to attract older women to your products than to infer they’ve given up As for me as long as that insulting ad runs I will not be purchasing any of your products

Covergirl is a good makeup product, however, your TV commercial ad with Maye Musk in my opinion is NOT a good model for “older” ladies. I feel that Ms. Musk looks hard with the makeup chosen for her in the TV ad and is not what one would expect regarding a “mature” woman. I’m 76, so I know something about getting older and looking well, but too much makeup can be a handicap for us mature ladies. We want to look attractive but not overly madeup. A natural look is far more attractive for us than too much makeup. Thank you for listening to my complaint. Try softening Ms. Musk’s makeup to see it that would help make her look better, and more natural.

I would like to be considered for your “OVER 50” Cover Girl campaign. II have seen 70 year old Maye Musk in your current advertisements. I called the corporate office but they could not provide any e-mail addresses to send pictures to for your consideration. I have an address of 350 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York 10018. Is that correct? And who would I address my request to so my letter and pictures get in the right hands. ? Thank you.

HI! I’m an exotic east indian woman who needs to be on the cover of Cover Girl makeup. I know if you saw my picture you would agree. You have different ethnic backgrounds of women and men but I’ve never seen an indian woman for Cover girl. I think I should be it! Please consider me. I can send pictures. Thank you!

You could increase your lip color sales (20% ?) If you displayed your products at eye level. Trying to bend down trying to read the color’s numbers / name is very difficult. Also on your website please include the product number for easier re ordering. Another sales increase potential. Easy fixes for increased profits and customer satisfaction.

I Love Cover Girl Products but I am tired of buying Cover Girl Eyebrow Pencils and they seem to break off in the middle of the Pencil causing me to sharpen the Pencil over and over again. Then the Pencil has disappeared. I have been using Cover Girl Pressed Powder, Eye Shadow, Liquid Make-up, Eyebrow Pencils since I was 16, I am now 64. Please find a way to fix this Problem. I have lost too much money over the Years. Thank you.
