Lancome was founded by  Guillaume d’Ornano and his business partner Armand Petitjean. The company originally sold only perfume and the name was chosen by d’Ornano’s wife, Elisabeth.

The company launched 5 fragrances at the World’s Fair in Brussels. Two years later, the company would create its first skin care product.

Lancome was acquired by Loreal in 1964 and quickly became the company’s leading luxury product.

History

Today, Lancome is known for its high-end fragrances, makeup, and skin care products.

Although co-founder Armand Petitjean insisted that the company never advertise, as a subsidiary of Loreal, the company heavily advertises in women’s publications.

In September 2022, the company announced that Latin artist Rosalia would be their new face and spokesmodel.

Mike Radenbaugh was just a teen in Garberville, California, when he began making motorized and electric bikes in the family garage.

It took Mike about 6-months of trial and error before he was able to create an electric bike, with speeds of up to 35MPH, that didn’t fry wires or burn out the battery in minutes. He called his creation Frankenbike.

Today, Radenbaugh is the CEO of the Seattle-based company Rad Power Bikes. In 2019, the company had reached $100 million in sales.

History

The company’s best-selling bike, Rad Runner, retails for slightly less than $1,200, has extra fat, wide tires to absorb shock, and can reach speeds of 20MPH, which means that no license, no plates, and no permits of any kind are required.

The battery pack is no larger than a loaf of bread. It takes about 6 hours to fully charge and it has a range of 20-30 miles.

Despite the booming business, the company was forced to lay off about 100 employees in April 2022.

Rad Power Bikes was also hit with a lawsuit after a 12-year-old girl died from head injuries after she was unable to stop her electric bike.

While this type of service may not seem necessary in today’s age, many people would prefer to speak to a human being, rather than leave a message on a machine.

This service also provides “Disaster Disruption”. If your company phone lines are out of order due to a natural disaster, and/or the cell phone system is down, PTAS can provide a valuable backup service.

PTAS features a generator for backup if power should be lost, as well as using two different phone company lines in case service is not available from one company.

In 2022, the company joined others in creating personalized vitamin packs via a subscription service.

The platform compares rental car prices from most major companies, such as Hertz, National, Avis, Alamo, and Dollar Rent a Car. The company states that reservations can be canceled up to 48 hours without penalty and that they will price match if you should find a lower price elsewhere.
