Unlike other retailers, Benny’s does not do online sales, although the company does have a website showing departments and sale items, as well as a list of locations.  Current CEO Malcom Bromberg states that while the company won’t rule out internet sales, at this time, they have no immediate plans to open up their company to online purchases.

Hotwire.Com is an online travel site that offers discount airline tickets and hotel reservations, usually from unsold travel inventory from other sites. The company was founded in 2000 by six airlines and Karl Peterson, Eric Grosse, Gregg Brockway, and Spencer Rascoff. Hotwire.Com is based out of Seattle, Washington.

Hotwire.Com functions as an operating system of Expedia. When Expedia and other sites have hotel accommodations and airline seats that are unsold, they often are turned over to Hotwire. The company does not use an auction format, but shows their pricing upfront. The company removed all airline booking fees in 2007, something few other companies have done.

Hotwire.Com uses an “opaque” sales model. While the time and price are shown, the exact name of the hotel or airline is not revealed until after the client has purchased their ticket. This is to avoid direct competition with other travel partners.

Hotwire doesn’t do a lot of paid advertising but in late 2021, it released a new ad, the first in nearly 4 years. 

Also in late 2021, the company released a survey which ranked the best cities for a quick weekend getaway and Palm Springs, California, came out on top.

The company began as a mailorder service and began selling online in 1995. Retail locations were opended in 2001. Title Nine currently has 23 locations and employs 300 full time employees. It is run by female executives and largely staffed by female athletes.

The company uses employees, employee family members, or customers for their advertising. Title Nine also offers a laid back workspace that concentrates on employee job satisfaction. Every desk at the corporate office has a view of the gym, every meeting has a game scheduled either before or after the meeting, and every desk is a free standing model with wheels.

The company sponsors a Movers and Makers contest where designers and manufacturers compete to have their products featured and sold on the Title Nine site.
