The company went public on the NASDAQ in 1982, originally under the ticker symbol DBRN, but after changing names in 2011 to Ascena Retail Group, their ticker symbol is now found under ASNA. DressBarn/Ascena Group also owns and operates numerous other stores, including Lane Bryant, Limited Too, Tween Brands, Justice, Ann Taylor, Loft, Catherine’s, Cacique, Dress Barn, Maurice’s and more. As of 2014, the company has almost 4,000 locations and employs approximately 16,000 people full time.

In 2016 the company had annual revenue of $ 6.99 billion and equity of $1.86 billion. DressBarn/Ascena Group now had headquarters located in Mahwah, New Jersey.

In May 2019, Dress Barn announced that it was closing all 650 locations, with the parent company Ascena stating that Dress Barn wasn’t operating an acceptable level of profit.

Warehouse Market was founded by Clint Cox in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1938. The company operates a chain of supermarkets in the greater Tulsa, Oklahoma, area, under the name The Colonial Store.

When the company was founded, the Great Depression was still ongoing, but the store did so well that Cox took out a $10,000 loan against his life insurance policy to open a second store, Warehouse Market. Today, the company has 9 locations and is still family owned and operated with Clint V. Cox, Jr., the third generation of Cox’s, working as CEO.

Warehouse Market was forced to close two stores in the early part of 2047, due to fierce competition in the area, according to Cox, Jr. He stated that the company hoped to reopen elsewhere in the state at a later date. Company headquarters remain in Tusa, Oklahoma.

This Is It! BBQ & Seafood, known more commonly as This Is It, was founded by current CEO and owner Shelly Anthony in 1993. After working in his parents restaurants during the early part of his life, Anthony wanted to create a restaurant that was different. This Is It! operates a chain of BBQ restaurants in the state of Georgia.

The company curently has 9 locations in the greater Atlanta, Georgia, area, some of them franchises. The restaurants offer Southern style soul food, including BBQ rib tips, fried catfish nuggets, and neck bone dinners. Online ordering for pick up is available, as is catering. Customers can also request a “Food Truck”, which delivers meals to parks, businesses, and other locations.

In 2011, This Is It! was ordered to pay back wages and fines for non-compliance with state minimum wage laws, overworking minors and forcing them to late hours, as well as a lack of overtime pay. Company headquarters are located in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Pinterest Corporate Office

Pinterest was founded in 2008 in San Francisco, California, by Evan Sharp. Originally named Cold Brew Labs, the company changed its name to Pinterest in 2010. Pinterest is a visual discovery platform tool for mobile phones, as well as a computer web page.

The company’s website and app is a free site that requires only registration via email, Google, or Facebook. Users can search or upload pictures and “pin” them to their online “board”. Even content found elsewhere on the web or photos the user has taken, can be uploaded and pinned. This creates a visual bulletin board and allows users to save links, or simply photos to refer to for later use. The company earns money by selling users data and interests to third parties.

In 2015, Pinterest was named by Fortune Magazine as being 8th on their Unicorn list, which ranks startups whose value is more than $1 billion. China blocked Pinterest in March of 2017. Their reasons were not disclosed.

History

The company’s focus is on women between the ages of 25 and 55 who wear clothing sizes 14 and up. Growing slowly over the years, the company at one time had 500 locations across the US, but closed approximately 120 low performing stores in 2009. Women’s clothing size 14 and up accounted for $16.2 billion in sales in 2013. Avenue Stores was acquired by Versa in 2012 after Avenue’s parent company, United Retail Group, went bankrupt earlier that same year.

Rumor has it that Versa is considering selling the company, even though the plus sized clothing company is doing well.

In August 2019, Versa closed all 222 Avenue store locations and filed for bankruptcy.

A company spokesperson stated that the company would remain online through their e-commerce site.

Corporate office headquarters are now located in Rochelle Park, New Jersey.
