National Service Animal Registry Corporate Office

National Service Animal Registry was founded in 1995 in southeastern Tennessee. The company offers a registry of service animals, ID patches, and certification.

Originally working with police dogs, dogs for the blind, and therapy animals, the company has expanded to include many other types of disabilities in their definition of “therapy” or “service animals” to include animals trained to help people with balance problems, difficulty hearing, diabetes, asthma, panic disorders, and seizures. Current CEO Tim Livingood had problems with his small service dog and quickly realized the importance of patches, vests, and other means of identification of service animals. In addition to certification, the company also offers ID tags with the animal’s registration number, and leashes with the NSAR logo, to make identification easier.

National Service Animal Registry has headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and currently has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

OfferUp Corporate Office

Offerup logo

OfferUp was launched in July of 2013 by friends Nick Huzar and Arean van Veelen in Seattle, Washington. After realizing that they both had many items that they no longer needed or rarely used. Rather than pay a storage fee, the pair decided to start their own business which lists local items for sale to potential buyers in the area.

Offerup phone app

The company is similar to Craigslist, other than it relies on a smartphone app, rather than a website. Clients take a picture with their phone and list the item using the app. Potential buyers locate items in their neighborhood and contact the seller. The website has become very popular in a short period of time, with statistics showing that an average person spends as much as 25 minutes a day browsing items. This is as long as many people spend on Instagram each day.

The company raised $39 million in 2017 and is looking to raise another $111 million to compete with eBay and Craigslist.

In January 2021, a judge allowed a class action lawsuit regarding privacy issues to continue against OfferUp.

OfferUp has far exceeded eBay in its first few years in terms of growth, with 42 million users.  Company headquarters are located in Bellevue, Washington.  offerup phone app 2
