Halloween Club Corporate Office

Halloween Club was founded in 1994 by cousins Babloo Sawhney and Jack Bhasin. After opening a department store called Aah’s, the pair noticed that there was big demand for Halloween items, not only at Halloween, but most of the year. This inspired the pair to open their own company, First Imperial Trading Company, and Halloween Club was born.

The company currently has two locations, one in La Mirada, the other in Montebello, California.

There is also an extensive online selection. Each store has thousands of costumes, masks, make up, and accessories, as well as Halloween decorations for the home. Many of the costumes are manufactured by the company and are sold under the “Straight From the Grave” label.

Boscov’s Corporate Office

Boscov’s department store was founded by Solomon Boscov in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 1911. A Jewish immigrant, Boscov began selling items door to door. Soon, he was able to open his own store in downtown Reading. The original name of the company was Economy Shoe Store and Dry Goods Annex. By 1968, the company had 4 stores and had annual revenue of $50 million.

Today, Boscov’s remains one of the last, family owned department stores with sales of more than $1 billion. The company has 44 stores in 7 states, with the largest store in New York. Despite filing for bankruptcy in 2008, the company reemerged in 2009 and began to re-open locations that had been closed due to the bankruptcy.

The company continues to expand, with plans to open a location in Sangertown Square, in Hartford, New York,  in the former Sears building, in late 2016. A store opened in 2015 in a former J.C. Penny location in Connecticut, marked the company’s first New England location.

Fiesta Mart Corporate Office

Fiesta Mart was founded in 1972 in Houston, Texas, by Donald Bonham and O.C. Mendenhall. Although neither are of Hispanic origin, Bonham had previously done farming in Guatemala and Belize. He recognized that Texas had few Hispanic supermarkets. The original Fiesta Mart supermarket catered mainly to the Hispanic culture. Later, as different people made Texas their home, the markets added other ethnic foods for Koreans and Filipinos.

Today, Fiesta Mart has more than 34 supermarkets in the Houston area, with 16 more located in other areas of Texas. The company also operates Fiesta Liquor and Beverage Mart brands. The company was acquired in 2004 by Grocers Supply. In 2011, Fiesta Mart purchased 11 Carnival brand stores and in July of 2016, they acquired 11 Minyard locations in the Northern part of Texas.

In addition to food, locations offer a variety of services including money orders, Western Union, utility company payments, lottery ticket sales, sporting event tickets, and vehicle license registration renewal payments.

His idea was so successful that not only was Kimball able to repay his loan, but he had money to start his mail order business.

By 1950, the company had more than 1 million customers and in 1974, the company printed its first all color catalog. The company opened their website in 2000.

Today, the company has changed names to Silver Star Brands, Inc., but they still provide a variety of consumer goods via mail order or online orders. Silver Star Brands also include other mail order companies that have been acquired over the years, including Walter Drake and Easy Comforts.

She wanted to help support her soon-to-be born child, so she used some of her father’s monogramming tools to make personalized belts and handbags. The company first advertised these items in Seventeen teen magazine. These monogrammed items were so successful that the company began sending out mail order catalogs in 1956.

The company went public in 1967, at the time, the first woman owned business to be listed on what was then the American Stock Exchange. Lillian Vernon is now owned by Current Media Group,LLC. Lillian passed away in New York in December of 2015.

In 1980, the company began expanding their merchandise line to include children’s items, clothing, back to school items, gifts for teachers and other types of gifts, pet supplies, holiday decor and housewares. The company still personalizes most items. Many celebrities have gotten their start as models for Lillian Vernon, including Marla Maples.
