Chime is an online banking app that allows clients to save money through no fees and automatic savings. There are no brick and mortar branches. Unlike other online banking services, Chime gives direct deposit clients access to their funds one or two days before the funds hit the account. There are no credit cards, no overdraft fees, and zero fees for using any ATM.

 Chime was founded in San Francisco, California, in 2013 by Chris Britt and Ryan King, who realized that most people, especially millennials, hate the major banking firms. Although the company is still new, it have already surpassed more than 1 million clients as of May 2018.

Chime had an outage on October 16th, 2019, the third such outage since July. This left customers unable to make purchases or use their debit card to access cash.
