Red Roof Inn Corporate Office

Red Roof Inn was founded in 1972 by Jim Trueman in Columbus, Ohio. Trueman believed most hotel chains were overpriced. He wanted to provide a clean, decent place for people to sleep without overcharging. Trueman used to pass out T-shirts that read “Sleep Cheap”, along with a picture of a hotel with a red roof.

Accor purchased the company in 1999 for $1.115 billion. Accor added 324 locations before selling the company in April of 2007 for $1.3 billion to Citigroup Global Special Situations Group and Westbridge Hospitality Fund LP.

The third Red Roof Inn still stands in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was built in 1973. The company has been remodeling all locations in 2012 at a cost of $200 million. Red Roof Inns have approximately 600 locations across the U.S. and employ more than 4,500 persons.

Despite the Covid pandemic, Red Roof Inns continues to build new locations, including the Weedsport, New York, location which opened in May 2022.

The company is a network of approximately 3,500 independently owned pharmacies across the U.S. Health Mart is a subsidiary of McKesson Pharmaceuticals. The company was named first place in the 2009 J.D. Powers and Associates study regarding customer satisfaction among chain drug and pharmacy retailers.

Health Mart provides pharmaceutical and over the counter drugs and medications. They specialize in insurance plans, accepting almost all types of insurance, including Medicare and Part D. Most locations offer to fill daily or weekly pill boxes for no additional charge. Health Mart also offers flu vaccination clinics and offer an extended supply of generic prescription drugs.

Ralph Brennan is a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area whose family had a background in restaurant management. Brennan recieved his MBA from Tulane University and worked as a CPA with Price Waterhouse before returning to his first love; food and the restaurant experience.

Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group  now owns and operates 7 restaurants, 6 of them in the New Orleans area. These restaurants are:

O’Charley’s was founded in 1971 by Charley Watkins. The original restaurant was located across the street from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. The company is known for its “Free Pie Wednesday” campaign, in which diners are offered a free slice of pie with their order of an entree.

Today, O’Charley’s is a casual dining chain that has 189 company owned locations in 17 states, along with 30 franchised locations. The company was sold in 2012 to Fidelity National Financial  and became a part of the American Blue Ribbon Holdings Corporation.

In 2002, the restaurant chain was named by Forbes as one of the 200 Best Small Companies in America and continued to place in this list for the 3 consecutive years. The company has also been listed as one of the Top Workplaces in 2014 by The Tennessean, as well as winning the Legendary Baking Takes Home 500th Blue Ribbon from the American Pie Council.

Between February 2019 and February 2020, the company closed nearly 20 locations across the country, and more are expected to follow.
