The Beer Bat Corporate Office

Sam McGee and his team had been making drinkware for casinos and restaurants for a few years when they got the idea of making a plastic glass shaped like a baseball bat.

He wasn’t sure the product would sell but at the first baseball game he tried, they sold out of 500 beer bats in the first hour.

The Beer Bat has hit an eCommerce home run now that BigCommerce has announced that it would sell this product on its platform.

The company went from producing a bat-shaped souvenir drink container for one minor league baseball team to receiving orders from 27 Major League Baseball teams across the country. I

In 2021 The Beer Bat added several Major League Baseball teams including the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres.

By early 2022, the company added more major league teams and expanded internationally into Canada, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea.

The company also sells a non-alcoholic drink in a slightly smaller bat for kids.

The Beer Bat is FDA-approved and holds 26 ounces of beer or another beverage. To hold the bat in place or to display it at home, there is also a beer bat stand available for purchase.

The Beer Bat maintains a corporate office in Hartford, Connecticut.

Man Crates Corporate Office

Jon Beekman realized that when it came to buying gifts for women, there were dozens of sites and options, but nothing strictly for men.

Beekman and a few friends began Man Crates in Beekman’s Palo Alto apartment. No one was paid a dime because everything was being invested back into the company.

A few early investors in 2012 enabled Beekman to start receiving a small salary, but the second round of investors came in with $2.5 million in 2014.

The company offers gift packages for men that come in a wooden crate that they can open with a crowbar. Packages range from $20 to nearly $200. Every year, Man Crates also puts out a beef jerky advent calendar for the holidays.

Man Crates maintains a corporate office in San Mateo, California.

Ruggable Corporate Office

When Jeneva Bell’s dog, Bambi, had an accident on her expensive rug, she was frustrated by the fact that it couldn’t be washed. Bell created her own type of rug called Ruggable.

Ruggable makes area rugs and pillow covers that can be washed in any home washing machine. The top “rug” portion can be easily removed from the recycled polyester non-slip backing.

Ruggable has a very large following on Instagram, with more than 380,000 followers who regularly post their rug mishaps and then the cleaning results after washing. The polyester rug cover has a polyurethane waterproof barrier sandwiched between the top surface, made from 100% woven polyester chenille, and the bottom surface, made of 100% polyester knit. The barrier blocks dirt, odor, and liquids from penetrating the cover’s bottom layer and the pad.

The company has received hundreds of positive reviews, even from finicky sites such as the Business Insider.

Ruggable maintains a corporate office in Gardena, California.

My Vermont Wreaths Corporate Office

myvermontwreaths logo

Katheryn Hackett took her hobby of making wreaths and garlands into a full-time business in 1987 when a friend, who had a mail order business, passed away. Her friend’s husband wasn’t interested in his wife’s business, so Hackett purchased the list of 700 persons and used that as a base for her business.

my vermont wreaths  The company harvests the material for wreaths and garlands from local fields and forests to make their beautiful creations. At least 25% of company sales come during the Christmas holidays, with Hackett making about 1,000 wreaths in 2017.

working at my vermont wreaths Hackett says she likes to think about where each wreath is going and where the person might be placing it. She finds that this busy time of year, when she often works 14 hour days, keeps her “centered.” Hackett’s mother, Betsy Cooke, helps to keep the books and the mailing list, as well as pitching in cutting branches when needed.

The company has two divisions, wholesale and retail, with the wholesale business starting in November 1st. Hackett says that she offers a 100% replacement guarantee, no questions asked. In addition to wreaths and garlands, the company offers pure Vermont maple syrup and Vermont Cabot Cheese.

Company headquarters are located in E. Hardwick, Vermont.

Uncommon Goods Corporate Office

Uncommon Goods Logo

In 1999 David Bolotsky visited the Smithsonian Museum craft show and marveled at the unique, handmade goods on display. He believed that there was a great demand for such items while recognizing that many artists traveled great distances to sell their wares.

This led to the creation of Uncommon Goods. Bolotsky began by traveling and purchasing items he found at arts and craft shows, then listing and selling them. The demand became so great that he soon outgrew his apartment for business use.

Uncommon Goods product samples  The company offers environmentally sustainable, handmade or minimally machined items online. Uncommon Goods also publishes catalogs, often suggesting gift ideas or products that compliment each other.

Uncommon Goods Catalogs  Amazon is the company’s main competition, but Bolotsky believes that his superior selection of items, faster shipping, and customer service will win customer’s over. Amazon, as Bolotsky notes, does not do catalogs, something many people still find appealing.

Uncommon Goods is also known for being a “B” company, as well as paying higher than required wages. Employees who feel good about their jobs do better at their jobs is the motto at  this ecommerce retailer.

Headquarters for Uncommon Goods is located in Brooklyn, New York.
