goPuff Corporate Office

goPuff was founded by two Drexel University students, Yakir Gola and Rafael Ilishayev, who had originally wanted to create an on-demand delivery service of hooka products but expanded when the pair realized they were receiving more requests for other products.

In 2016, the company raised $8.25 million in Series A funding and in $750 million from SoftBank, which committed itself up to an additional $250 million.

goPuff mainly delivers from a list of 3,000 items that are typically found in convenience stores, such as snacks, drinks, toiletries.

In 2015, the company launched goBeer, which delivers as much as a 12 pack of beer, and in 2016, another app appropriately called goBooze, which delivers hard liquor.

The company has put all of these brands under one umbrella called GoBrands.

goPuff delivers 24/7/365, which means that customers don’t need to get out of bed on a Sunday morning to fetch toilet paper. There is a flat delivery fee of $1.95 and no charge for orders over $49.

Many companies see goPuff as being the industry leader in delivery service and liken it to Amazon in progressive business thinking.

goPuff now owns warehouses that stock many of the common items that customers ask for, eliminating the middleman and creating an instant profit.

goPuff maintains its corporate office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Drizly Corporate Office

Drizly was found in 2012 by 3 Boston college students, Nick Rellas, Justin Robinson, and Spencer Frazier. They wondered why nearly anything could be ordered and delivered except for beer and liquor. This trio set about to change history with their app called Drizly.

The company offers an app that sells beer and liquor that is delivered within an hour to a customer’s home. This app is available in nearly every major US city, as well as Calgary and Alberta, Canada.

In July 2018, Drizly entered into a partnership with Anheuser-Busch to keep beer stocked in offices across the country. The partnership allows exclusive handling delivery to Anheuser-Busch’s Office Bud-e fridges, which use smart sensors and WiFi connection to automatically re-order beer when stocks run low.

Drizly works with local retailers to provide products and Drizly provides drivers. Drivers have a separate app with proprietary ID verification technology that it provides to its retail partners that allow drivers to scan IDs for more than a barcode to make sure the purchaser is over 21 years old in the US and of legal drinking age in Canada.

Drizly does not take a cut of the order price, which is one reason why New York’s State Liquor Authority approved it to operate without a liquor license. Instead, Drizly charges the liquor and wine stores a monthly fee to use its order fulfillment software as well as its iPads and iPhones. The company does not mark up the prices of alcoholic beverages themselves. Retailers on Drizly may have a minimum order or delivery fee, typically $5.

The coronavirus and subsequent quarantine have not hurt Drizly sales, in fact, the company states that they saw a 435% increase in the number of orders through mid-April 2020.

Drizly maintains a corporate office in Sherborn, Massachusetts.

Boxed Corporate Office

Friends since childhood,  Chieh Huang, Christopher Cheung, and William Fong, along with Jared Yaman, came up with the idea of starting a mobile app for wholesale products in bulk, without the costly membership fees such as Costco.

The company began its business in 2013 and began shipping out of Huang’s garage. In 2014, Express was launched. This service is an on-demand grocery delivery service that was available in New York, New Jersey, and Boston. Customers picked their groceries, including fresh fruit and vegetables, then chose a day and time for delivery.

n June 2015, Boxed launched its premium private brand Prince & Spring. Many customers wonder what is the difference between Amazon and Boxed or Costco and Boxed? CNBC comparison shopped Costco and Boxed in April 2019. After comparing prices on 26 basic items, CNBC says that Costco came out to be less expensive.

The company partnered with Lidl in May 2019 to provide customers with fresh produce and other grocery products. Boxed also partnered with Century 21 stores (not the real estate company) in August 2019, to provide customers with designer brand clothing, something that Millenials have an interest in.

Headquarters for Boxed are located in New York, New York.

Foodie Call Corporate Office

Foodie Call Logo 2

Ana Mehra worked in corporate offices for years and became so frustrated with the lack of restaurant delivery services to business that she decided to go into business for herself. She founded Foodie Call in 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mehra says that the company is more than just a delivery service, but a restaurant advertising firm as well. The company is one of the few to use insulated “hot” bags to deliver food, keeping it as warm as possible. The website uses cute lines to promote food, such as ” I’m saucy and you get to pick whether I’m dressed in ranch or bleu cheese. I’m usually pretty spicy but I can also be mild and sometimes a little sweet if that’s what you like. If you like wings, you’ll like me!”

Foodie Call was once limited to Charlotte and outlying areas, but after being acquired by Bite Squad in late 2017, the company now delivers almost everywhere Bite Squad does.

Company headquarters remain in Charlotte, North Carolina.
