Lumber Liquidators Corporate Office

Lumber Liquidators was founded in 1993 in Stroughton, Massachusetts, by Tom Sullivan. Sullivan was working as a building contractor when he began purchasing excess wood from other builders, and reselling it out of the back of his truck. The first retail location opened in 1996 in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Over the next 10 years, the company kept opening new stores to meet the growing demand. As of 2016, the company has locations in 46 states and employs approximately 1,000 persons. Wood is now purchased from mills, rather than the extra from building sites. Today, the company specializes in solid and engineered hardwood, laminate flooring, bamboo flooring, cork flooring and resilient vinyl flooring, and butcher blocks. Samples are always available, as well as necessary moldings, accessories and tools.

Lumber Liquidators guarantees that all their wood is from sustainable harvesting and is first class wood, not factory seconds. Company headquarters are now located in Toano, Virginia.

Olinde’s Furniture Corporate Office

Olinde’s Furniture can trace its roots back to 1897 in Lafayette, Louisiana. The company was purchased in the late 1940’s by Joseph Olinde, who gave it the family name. The company operates a chain of furniture and mattress stores.

From a single location, the company now boasts 12 showrooms throughout the Baton Rouge/Lafayette area. Joseph Olinde was president of the company for almost 70 years before his death in 2015. The company sells a wide variety of furniture, mattresses, and other home goods.

In addition to the furniture store, the family also owns Olinde Hardware and Supply.  Flooding in 2016 took out two Olinde locations, one of which was the new Ashley’s Homestore. Estimates are that the company has an annual revenue of $20 million and employs more than 100 persons full time.

The company is known for their garments that are not only inexpensive, but that are, for the majority, made in Los Angeles. In addition to women’s clothing, the company has expanded into children’s and men’s clothing, as well as accessories, such as purses and jewelry, as well as plus sizes and lingerie. All items are $10 or less, with some being $5.99 or less. There is also a 99 cent per item section for clearance items.
