Tophatter Corporate Office

Tophatter is an e-commerce and auction marketplace founded in 2012 by  Ashvin Kumar ( current CEO) and Chris Estreich.

Tophatter is an online marketplace like Amazon, eBay, and Wish; however, the CEO Ashvin Kumar states that it’s more of a next-generation QVC or Home Shopping Network due to its auctions discovery shopping format.

Tophatter is currently live in the US, Austria, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

The company is known to use games to help enhance not only the customer experience but to increase sales.

Unlike Amazon, which looks for similar items consumers have searched for, Tophatter prides itself on helping consumers find things they didn’t know they needed, wanted, or that even existed.

Tophatter maintains a corporate office in San Francisco, California.

eBid Corporate Office

eBid was founded in December of 1998 by Gary Sewell and Mark Wilkinson. These two stockbrokers decided that they would start an eBay like auction business in the U.K. since, at that time, eBay was not operating in Europe.

eBid allows sellers in 23 countries to make listings to buyers in more than 100 countries. The company uses its own payment service call PPPay but clients can also use Paypal and Skrill. eBid allows clients to accept other forms of payment but these are not integrated on the site. eBid offers no fee auctions where sellers only pay if an item sells. When the item sells, eBid takes a small percentage of the sale.

The company has 8 million pages and more than 60,000 visitors to its site every day. eBid typically has more than 2.5 million listings at any given time.

eSnipe Corporate Office

eSnipe is an online auction “sniping” website which allows users to place a bid on an eBay auction during the last 2 or 3 seconds  of bid. If a user does not win the auction, there is no charge. The company website also allows users to cancel a bid up to one minute before the auction ends. This in contrast to eBay’s policy which forces bidders to request cancellation from the seller.

eSnip has more than 10,000 bids placed each day and has an average revenue of $16 million each month. The company has more than 50,000 registered users. In December of 2000, eSnipe was put on auction on eBay. Tom Campbell, former Microsoft Program Manager and current eSnipe CEO won the auction via eSnipe.
