Shark Vacuum, also known as Shark Ninja, actually got its start about 100 years ago in Europe making sewing machines. The business expanded to Canada, where 3rd generation CEO Mark Rosenweig, decided to make an offshoot of the company and move it to Massachusetts. Rosenweig developed a unique type of vacuum cleaner, as well as a blender called The Ninja in 2003.

Shark vacuum The company created a different type of easy to use, lightweight vacuum called The Shark. This vacuum quickly became so popular that within 5 years, it outsold the previous #1 selling vacuum made by Dyson.

It was rumored in 2017 that the company was up for sale and later that same year, CDH Funding, a private equity firm, invested $1 billion in the company for a significant equity interest.

Shark Robot In early 2018, the company introduced their robotic vacuum to compete with company’s such as Roomba. In the May 2018 edition of New York Magazine, the Shark Ion robotic vacuum was listed as the best such vacuum for picking up pet hair.

In August 2020, Amazon customers stated that the Shark vaccum beat Dyson’s hands down.

I have a broken attachment and was told that “I” need to buy it myself. I am a longtime consumer of your products and am appalled that you will not replace an attachment that has clearly not been used by me yet. In fact, it probably came to me broken. I will not be buying any more of your products and will tell all who ask, why.

We bought a vacuum and have had it for a few years. A plastic piece came off and I have EXPOSED wires. I have called 3 times, 2 entailing a video chat demonstrating the issue and each time was told
someone would call me back. NOTHING!!!! I spend MY time making the call, waiting, being promised just to get nothing. I even told the lady on the phone last night that I doubted I would get a call, sure enough nothing!! I am furious about this and at this point I am ready to have a yard sale full of my kitchen and shark products and never buy them again. This is extremely frustrating and my business obviously isn’t needed and doesn’t home matter. What do I need to do to get you to stand behind your word????

In 2021 I purchased two (2) Shark robotic vacuums, one for each floor of my home. Shortly afterwards, one went haywire, spinning in circles and getting “stick” on absolutely nothing after less than a minute of operating. Shark originally refused to stand behind it, despite only a few months of use. Then they told my husband we had to pay $24.99 for a new “pod”—the guts of the machine. He refused. Eventually they agreed to waive the shipping fee. While he was not happy about having to spend 30 minutes on labor, it DID solve the problem. The lesson here is: DO NOT ACCEPT NO FOR AN ANSWER.

Purchased a Shark A1 Robot vacuum that has never worked correctly. The mapping and battery consistently fail and I have been sent 2 replacements. So a total of 3 vacuums have failed at the cost of $339.47. I have tried to request a refund and get the runaround! Such a shame that so many have had the same issue with this model and Shark will not refund the money for a clearly defective product.

First time ever calling “customer service” at Shark (Ninja!) and reached Columbia several times today. Had to endure thick accents and bad attitudes and 1/2 wasted time. What a joke. Keep outsourcing, you American companies and see where it gets you. As a result of my experience on the telephone, I never want to buy another Shark product. Brilliant.

I am very disappointed in shark and the quality of shark sonic duo which purchased a little over 6 month ago the base of the product is made out of plastic which hold the top portion of the machine because the steam was so intense it has crack throughout . I contacted shark they said that a reciept must shown I explained that I did not have one. Part they don’t have and product has discountinued which the managed I spoke stated. I see why machine is cracked that’s like putting plastic over fire with intense steam the plastic has crack no longer holds the base together out of over $200

Your brand name is Shark but you should really be called snake because your are scamming hard working individuals into buying your defective cheaply made products without taking full responsibility for your products flaws. As a previous shark owner of a shark vacuum which I loved. I was so disappointed with my experience on my new vacuum my husband purchased for me. On Amazon prime day the Shark NV358 Navigator Lift-Away Professional Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner was available and we quickly jumped on it. Me being pregnant I loved the idea of a lighter vacuum for me to safety clean around the house. Without reservations because I know
and previous loved your product we clicked purchase and waited for the ups man to deliver or new product. Product arrive on time and we couldn’t wait to use. Assembly seemed pretty easy until we came to the part when the hose connect to the handle and snap. Making vacuum unusable! I wanted to cry how did this new piece crack ai wondered. Did I do something wrong? I then got on phone with Amazon we’re great and understanding and sent me new product right away. Waited patiently again and when it arrived this time I had my husband put it together. So now he assembled the vacuum it was going smoothly until he got to the same part and crack. A smaller crack then what I had but still a crack! Not wanting to deal with return and buy again we decide to suck it up and go ahead with usage. Vacuum itself worked great really sucked up everything and did a great job. Fast forward three months later when I was putting my vacuum away after cleaning and the whole ..nose piece completely snapped off! Making it now completely unusable. How I wondered this is a 3 month old vacuum! I didn’t know what to do next. I figured don’t bother with Amazon since it’s outside the return window so I tried calling your company shark. Which I thought was a big repliucal company. So I get in touch with a customer service agent right away I’m going through and explain to her what has happened even did a live video to show her the issue. After all that was said and done the resolution was for me to pay over $60 for a replacement piece to be shipped. I was in disbelief. How can a big company like this not stand behind there product and do the right thing and send me a piece free of charge! I decided I was NOT going to pay that and I was going to try Amazon. I went back to the Amazon website and started reading reviews and low and behold the reviews all said same issue! Wow!! How can this be going on?! How do you stand behind a product knowing this is an issue and you do nothing about it. Amazon felt horrible and tried contacting your company shark with the same response $ 60 shipping. They also agreed that was ridiculous and offered a $20 Amazon credit for YOUR company’s error. The vacuum is $200 not even half of what we paid but still a nice gesture. I’m so absolutely disgusted by my experience with your company!

I called the customer care phone number on 10/11/2021 at 12:28 pm, central time. I called because a wheel broke off my Shark Ion Flex (model IF251) and half of the led headlights were burnt out. The agent informed me it is covered under the 5 year warranty and that I will be sent a new “floor nozzle”. I was put on hold and the call was disconnected.

I called back and talked to a different agent, identifying himself as Juan Garcia, employee number 1333980. Juan refused to send the part and told me the last agent was wrong. I a asked to speak to a person in charge of him and he refused to contact his manager or supervisor. I told him to listen to the phone call between the last agent and myself where being it was a recorded phone call. Juan refused that also. He informed me that it’s the company policy to not allow customers to speak with supervisors and he is the only one that can help.

My 3 year old vacuum remains broken under the 5 year warranty advertisement and according to Juan the company does not honor their advertised warranty

Both phone calls were recorded by the company and I ask SOMEONE with in the management listen to this nonsense from Juan and takes appropriate action on him.

I am having difficulty finding an email address for corporate, I was trying to avoid sending a message to the general customer service line, so I thought I would reach out on this platform.

I wanted to praise the product support representative (Tyree) who helped me to troubleshoot an issue I was having with my Shark Cordless vac. Not only was he professional and knowledgeable, but he was extremely polite, thorough and patient. These are traits that are not always found when calling customer support lines and I would like to make the “powers that be” aware that their company is being represented by this outstanding employee.

Great job, Tyree, and thank you!!

Shark apex vac. There is a piece the size of a dime that fits into the side of the front roll: when it breaks, shark offers no replacement part-you have to spend 89.00 dollars for a new bottom half of the vac. Total rip off. I bought two new front rollers on line and the plastic piece does not come with replacement front rollers.it is attached to the revolving metal stub that revolves when the vac is in motion , it inserts into the brush roller so it’s tight: the opening on the end of the brush roller is to big otherwise. This is a deliberate design to wear out to rip people off: they know it and won’t offer this dime size part. The girl even admitted to me at shark they have had calls about this.

I purchased a Shark navigator on Amazon 174.27. It was for my condo in Florida and I am rarely there at the time. When I did try to vacuum it is impossible to push on a carpet. Like pushing a weighted sled. My husband can’t push it either. After speaking with customer service and doing a video exam of the unit it was decided I need a new vacuum head. I was told I needed to pay $95. I said absolutely not the vacuum is new. At this point just 3 months old but attempted to use twice. She then said ok $45.00. I said no we then got to I should just pay shipping 24.00 and I agreed stupidly. When I got back to Fl. the new head was there and of course the same thing. Can’t push the vacuum. And yes all the correct adjustments and buttons were set. Amazon says its beyond there return time and Shark said the will pay to return the new part only. The only resolution here is take this piece of garbage back and send me the Shark Rocket corded stick vacuum. My daughter has it and it works. My resolution send me a return slip for both vacuum and part and send me the shark Rocket. Shark still comes out ahead. This is the worst customer service in all the years I’ve been alive. This vacuum is coming back to you as soon as I’m in Florida. Bought a defective product and I have to pay! NO WAY!!

I see by the comments above I am not the only one to fall victim to this terrible product. I “INVESTED” in a Shark Apex Vacuum a little over a year ago and it’s broken. I contacted customer service and they are telling me I need to BUY another part to fix something that should not have broken in a little over a year because it’s not covered. When I originally bought this vacuum, the first one broke within 60 days so I had to return it…I continued to believe and invest in the brand and replaced with another. That was my first mistake. I also invested in a shark robot vacuum and handheld because I stood by the brand. I am disgusted with the amount of money I have given this company that I now have to buy pieces to fix something that should still be working. I am already in over $500 with this brand and thinks its horrible customer service to ask for more money when this “INVESTMENT” should have lasted. You have lost a customer here. I reached out on social media and was told the same copy and paste message over and over again…’we can offer you free shipping, but you need to pay us for the part’….outrageous! So disappointed that a product can’t last a little over a year without pets! My cheaper brand lasted me 6 years and I got rid of it when I bought this hunk of junk!

It has taken three attempts to get my base replaced. First time the sent me filters, second time it was a hose that they charged my 20+ dollars to ship. Took 2-3 days to get a call back from a supervisor, who apologies then said it would still take another 3-10 days and “hopefully “they” got it right” , Employee task oriented along with their supervisor. Apologies come off so insincere. I had such high hopes for the SHARK products.

Looks like I am not the only one. Bought a vacuum with a 5 year warranty. Called and they said it was covered but the part is not procurable now, but you can buy the base piece for 50% off. Really, it is not my problem that they do not make the part anymore. Send me the replacement. The warranty is clear, the recorded call was clear, but now everything is NOT. Come on, if you will not HONOR your 5 year warranty, then don’t advertise it. Don’t put it on your product. And don’t tell me to follow your process when there is NO serial number on it and your website will not let you register it. Again, this is crazy even after serval phone calls and they said they registered it and I go look. Guess What? NOT There. DO THE RIGHT THING AND HONOR YOUR WARRANTY.

I purchased a Shark Ion robot in March of 2018, less than 2 years later it stopped working. I contacted support and they informed me that the best they can do is offer me 30% a new one. The battery does not hold a charge with no options to fix it. I am very disappointed. I feel I am entitled to a new original shark ion to replace the less than 2 year old one that does not work. I even purchased new batteries and it just does not hold a charge. Something like this should not be out of warranty within a year. Can someone please get back to me. I should not have to buy a product that lasts for only 2 years tops.

SEEMS LIKE IT ALWAYS TIPS OVER, AND EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT AT FIRST, I AM ON MY THIRD ONE NOW, BUT THERE IS A FLAW IN THE TUBE THAT IS ON THE TOP, WHEN YOU HAVE TO KICK IT DOWN TO START SPINNING, EVENTUALLY THE HOSE WILL CRACK AND THEN A BIG HOLE WILL FORM… THIS HAS HAPPENED ON ALL THREE OF MY SHARK VACUUMS, AND THE FIRST ONE WAS 1-2 YRS OLD, AND MY SECOND ONE WAS ONLY LIKE 8 MO OLD, AND THIS ONE NOW IS LIKE 2 YRS OLD. I MEAN I LOOKED ON HOW LONG A SHARK VACUUM SHOULD LAST AND IT SAID 5-7 YRS………….. BS THERE IS NO WAY I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMPANY ALL THEY CARE IS ABOUT THE DAMB MONEY… THEY DO NOT BACK UP THEIR PRODUCT AT ALL. WAY OVER PRICED AND MADE OUT OF CRAP. THEY REALLY NEED TO MAKE THEIR HOSES OUT OF SOMETHING ELSE…… AND THATS REAL TALK….. STOP RIPPING US HARD WORKING TAX PAYING AMERICANS OFF….. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR COMPANY. YOUR PRODUCT IS A LIE… YOU SHOULD BE EXPOSED…… THANK YOU AND HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY……

I have called in 4 times now, I have requested supervisors to call me on 2 occasions when your customer service as been unable to help me. I have waited 48 hrs 2 times now waiting on a supervisor call that never comes. I have purchased 6 shark vacuums from you in the past 3 years now alone and purchased in store prior to that check out my account I am a loyal customer. However this is not acceptable I am very frustrated I have also called and left a message at your corporate offices earlier today (they may not have had a chance to return my call yet). I would switch brands. I just purchased there new shark Apex and spent $400. I have owned the unit for 6 months and the head has an electrical issue. I called to file a claim and after a quick 5 min. troubleshooting exercises the proceed to tell me it is a wearable part ( electrical issue with brush roller not starting unless handle close to 90° lock position ) and not covered under the warranty. I asked if he read the website says hepa filters and other parts ect …
He informed me it falls under the ect… clause and when unread the warranty “it’s anything they deam wearable” . If there not going to stand by there product I hope they lose all there customers.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in my Shark Navigator NV 360 which was just purchased on 9/20/2019. The head of the vacuum no longer spins and the indicator light does not work. I contacted Shark support today, we walked through various steps, and the vacuum still will not work. I was told I would need a new head for the vacuum. I could purchase this head for $95.00…….ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! If your company can not guarantee the quality of your products for more than a couple of months, I want nothing to do with your product. I had a Dyson for 15 years prior to purchasing this Shark and I cannot believe I allowed somebody from a store to convince me into switching my brand loyalty for something that has completely failed me. If your company cannot do something better for me, then I am taking a picture of my vacuum, the receipt, and I’m plastering this all over every form of social media possible. I will also comment on your page, Google, Better Business Bureau, etc with terrible reviews. I will have numerous others do the same. After reading some of the other reviews, maybe we need to start contacting Attorney Generals. Either your company steps up their game and provide a better quality product or offer better protection/backing when something does fail or I’m moving forward with my actions.

My husband and I decided to purchase the TRUPET upgrade while watching the infomercial August 17, 2019. We called the number shown 1-800-798-7398 and inquired about purchasing the product through the payment plan as described on the infomercial. The infomercial also stated that we would receive a 5 year VIP warranty and the steam mop as a free gift. I gave the sales representative my information on a recorded line, and purchased the product. Two days later the entire purchase price of $299.80 plus $17.99 tax was amount was removed from my account. I was not sent a confirmation email nor was I sent a shipping confirmation email.
August 19, 2019, I contacted customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do to rectify the situation. The customer service representative told me that I would have to wait until the product was delivered, return it and wait for my reimbursement.
August 22, 2019, I contacted customer service for the second time. I explained my situation to the representative. He informed me that I had purchased the vacuum in full and that it showed nowhere that I asked for the payment plan. I asked if the sales calls were recorded and was told that they are for quality assurance but, they did not have access to the recordings. I told the representative that I had not received an email for order confirmation or shipment information. The representative ask me for and alternate email address and I did receive both emails. I have NEVER dealt with such horrible customer service as I have with Shark. I am extremely disappointed and am hoping that the products perform as promised.
    I just received my shipment, August 22, 2019 .
My name is spelled incorrectly. The outer shipping box is not properly sealed. . All pieces were included and in new condition. Assembly of both the mop and the vacuum were extremely simple. I have yet to register the products and warranty. I am doing so after closing this correspondence.

Also needs declogging of the tinest pieces of dirt/hair , cuts off all the time and even though I clean the filters, pipes and runners everyday it never performs any better. When I put it back in its place all the rubbish falls out the hoover!

I HAVE 1 INSTALLMENT LEFT TO PAY AND I AM NOT HAPPY WITH PRODUCT . Rang customer services and straight away because I am past my 28 days she said sorry you cant bring it back now! I called customer service to let them know my brand new 1 day old machine lost a wheel that will not go back on. I was told to call back as they were have a maintenance run on the system and I would have to call back in a couple of hours. This is Black Friday, who runs a maintenance at 11 am on Black Friday. No one said I am sorry that happened let me get your name to the proper person and someone will call you back, I was told they would not do anything and I had to call back they did not care if I gave Shark a poor review. This is the second Shark I have purchased, with this customer service I will not refer or purchase another.

I bought my first sweeper in 2015, it has worked well and I recommened them to others–a few have bought them…I have a lifetime warranty and I called with a few issues…turns out they are sending me a new one, BUT, my problem is..I lose my lifetime warranty–only get 3 yrs WHAT is up with that?? I want my lifetime on the new sweeper..it wasn’t my fault that your sweeper went bad and I new a new one..Who do I need to talk with to get my lifetime warranty put over on new one. You can just fix my old one and send back to me–the one with the lifetime warranty. Please response
