Hard Rock Cafe Corporate Office

The Hard Rock Cafe was founded by two Americans in London in 1971. Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton began covering the walls of their restaurant with rock and roll posters, records, and other memorabilia. The Seminole Tribe of Florida purchased the chain in 2007.

The company has amassed one of the largest collections of rock and roll memorabilia in the world. The first piece of memorabilia came from Eric Clapton, who wanted to hang his Fender guitar over his regular seat. This caused Pete Townshend to put one of his guitars over his regular seat at the Picadilly restaurant. The movement went on from there. There are currently 191 locations in 59 countries. There are approximately 157 cafes, 22 hotels and 11 Hard Rock gambling casinos.

The company runs a chain of themed restaurants, hotels, and casinos. Some of the hotels and casino locations have been sold to various companies over the years, but the cafe’s remain under the control of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, with headquarters in Orlando, Florida.

Amy’s Ice Creams was founded by former Steve’s Ice Cream employee, Amy Simmons in 1984. While a student at Tufts University, Simmons and her business partner Scott Shaw, decided to open their own ice cream shop in Austin, Texas. Simmons did not have enough cash for her first store lease, but wrote a hot check, hoping to make enough money to cover it by the second deposit.

Today, the company has 13 locations, mostly in Texas. Simmons has said that she did not want to lose control of her business, so she plans to expand it slowly. While Amy’s Ice Creams has more than 300 flavors of ice cream and fruit ices, each store has a limited number of flavors and rotates them each month.

Amy’s Ice Creams is known for allowing, and even encouraging, employees to be a bit outlandish in their dress and serving style. Purple hair, multiple piercings, and made up songs are an every day occurrence at many locations.

John and Eugene Jetts opened their first Jet’s Pizza in Sterling Heights, Michigan, in 1978. The company offers casual dining and makes pizzas, salads, and submarine sandwiches. Jet’s Pizza is known for their signature Deep Dish, 8 Corner pizza, which they have trademarked.

Today, the company has 350 locations in 18 states across the US. The Jetts decided to expand the business and added their cousins, the Galloways, as partners, forming Jet’s America, Inc. Jet’s Pizza had annual revenue in 2013 of $268 million.

In April 2020, Jet’s introduced its “Mexican Pizza” with black olives, jalapeno peppers, and premium chorizo. 

In October 2020, the company announced a reward program for frequent diners. 

The original pizza recipe comes from one that the Jetts mother used. It hasn’t been changed since 1978 and the Jetts say that, although it might cost a bit more to make it this way, they believe it is the best pizza recipe in America.

Gold Star Chili restaurants was founded in 1965 by the four Daoud brothers, in the Mount Washington area of Cincinnati. The original name of the company was Hamburger Heaven. The original idea was to sell hamburgers and chili burgers, however, the brothers noticed that people were ordering more chili than hamburgers. The company changed its focus and its name.

Today, the company has 95 franchised and company locations in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. In 2015, one of the founding brothers’ sons, Roger David, returned from college to take his place as CEO of the company.

Gold Star Chili is one of the major sponsors of the Cincinnati Bengals and is the official chili of the team.

Woodside Farm Creamery is a real working farm that mainly involves dairy cows and chickens. The Mitchell family has owned this farm since 1796 and up until 1961, its main focus was on milk production. Today, the farm has approximately 30 dairy cows, but the purpose now is to provide milk, cream, and butterfat for its ice cream sales.

The company opened their store making ice cream and other frozen treats, including shakes, as well as homemade goodies such as fudge, cakes, pies, and brownies in 1998. Chickens were added to the farm in 2015 and free range, organic eggs are now also offered for sale.

Sheep and goats are kept to keep the grasses trimmed around the ice cream shop, as well as to provide entertainment for guests. The store is open seasonally, and offers catering services as well.
