Repower by Solar Universe, whose name will change to Repower America, delivers solar power to homeowners through a national network of locally owned and operated franchises and network partners.
The company is one of the top 10 providers of solar systems for residential customers in the US. The Repower network currently consists of more than 200 partners in 12 states. In early 2015, the company began to include complementary smart home components along with solar installation. This bundle includes a solar system smartphone app, temperature monitoring, lighting controls and alerts, all at no cost with every new solar system purchased.
In 2012, Entrepreneur Magazine ranked Solar Universe one of the 50 best new franchise concepts and selected it for the prestigious “Franchise 500,” alongside such industry leaders as Subway, 7-Eleven, and McDonald’s.
The company changed its name to Repower America in September 2017. It also filed for bankruptcy in November 2018.
