History

The company is the 9th largest cable operator in the U.S., providing television, internet, and telephone services in Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, South Carolina, and New York. Atlantic Broadband serves approximately 250,000 persons and offers both basic and expanded services including pay-per-view television, DVR device, high definition television channels as well as basic or local channels.

Atlantic Broadband also offers its customer’s storage data and backup, hosted voice services for business clients, and satellite-delivered channels such as CNN and MTV.

In 2012, CEO Richard Shea rang the bell on the NASDAQ in honor of all veterans.

The company acquired MetroCast in 2017 for $1.4 billion. Headquarters are located in Quincy, Massachusetts.

El Pollo Loco was founded in 1975 by Juan Francisco Ochoa in Guasuave, Sinaloa, Mexico. The restaurant chain added new locations throughout northern Mexico and in 1980, the first U.S. location opened on Alvarado Street in Los Angeles, California. In the early 1980’s, all American locations were purchased by Denny’s restaurants.

Today, the company has more than 400 locations and franchises throughout North America. The company went public in July of 2014 on the NASDAQ, where it is publicly traded under the ticker symbol: LOCO.

El Pollo Loco features Mexican style chicken and chicken based meals such as salads, burritos, and tacos, as well as citrus marinaded, fire grills chicken pieces. In 2012, all El Pollo Loco restaurants were remodeled and restyled to update their interior designs.

High Tide Harry’s was founded in 1995 by Mike Heretick. The restaurant serves typical seafood platters and specials, such as Maryland crab cakes in a causual dining atmosphere. The restuarnt is a no frill experience but has unique twists that make it fun for many people, including serving drinks in a “fishbowl” type of glass. Although the company offers an “all you can eat” seafood bar or replacement meals, they have posted on their website that this is limited to 7 platefuls per person.

High Tide Harry’s does not offer delivery service but does have a take-out menu. The company was located at the corner of North Semoran Boulevard and Colonial Drive for 15 years, but moved closer to the airport in 2010. Heretick has stated that while remodeling costs were more than $250,000, he feels it was a worthwhile investment as business has increased substantially.

Cincinnati Bell was originally founded in 1873 as the City and Suburban Telegraph Company, since the invention of the telephone was still 3 years away. The name was changed in 1903 to Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company. Today, the company offers telephone service, high speed internet, and energy service to retail customers in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

The company has more than 3,000 employees and annual revenue in 2011 of $18.6 million. Cincinnati Bell did offer wireless phone service to cell phone customers, however, in April of 2014, the company sold its wireless service to Verizon Communications.

Through a partnership with Veridian Energy, Cincinnati Bell became the first telephone provider retail energy service to its customers. The company states that their energy is entirely wind-generated from local sources.
