Cotton Patch Cafe was founded in 1989 in Nacogdoches, Texas, by Larry Marshall and Mike Patranella. The company operates a chain of Tex-Mex food restaurants, mainly in Texas and New Mexico. As of 2015, the company had 45 restaurants in 3 states.

In February of 2016, Altamont Capital Partners acquired the successful chain of restaurants. At this time, there are no plans to change the name or to change the current executives.

Cotton Patch Cafe was designed to offer made from scratch cooking to local communities. The company still uses many of the same recipes and meals which they began with in 1989. Many locations, especially the first few, were decorated by the owners wives, who used items they bought at thrift stores and county fairs, in order to give each location an “at home” feeling.

Doghead Fish Brewery offers more than 45 flavors of beer, not including seasonal or temporary flavors, which can vary. The company also bottles and sells some of their product in grocery stores and liquor outlets. The company is also the main sponsor of Boston’s annual Extreme Beer Fest.

Fareway envisions a one stop quick shop, where customers can park, grab food for the home, and back in their cars within 10 minutes.

In 2018, the company implemented a program which would helps employees with student debt pay off their loans faster.

After 85 years Fareway moved its corporate office in Boone, Iowa, to a larger space in Des Moines, Iowa, in August 2023.

In 2001, the company was purchased by the Luxottica Group for $653 million.

Today, Sunglass Hut has 2,000 locations in 20 countries. Luxottica makes nearly all of the major brands of sunglasses that are sold in the world, including Ray Ban, Oakley, Chanel, and Prada sunglasses. The company continues to grow, with new locations being opened in Mexico and Central America in 2015 and 2016.

Sunglass Hut focuses on name brand, designer sunglasses. The company prefers to place their stores in shopping mall, kiosks in airports, hotels, and “global” stores. The company has a partnership with Macy’s to open kiosks within their department stores.

Roxy was founded in 1969 in Torquay, Australia. The company is a division of Quiksilver, which makes clothing, swimwear, and accessories for young women. The Roxy brand was introduced in 1990. Today, the company has headquarters in Huntington Beach, California.

Since being introduced, Roxy has become the largest action or sport fashion wear for young women in the US. The brand is designed to appeal mainly to young beach going women or the camping set. The company now also produces and sells wetsuits, fashion accessories, such as handbags and belts, surfboards, skis, footwear and perfume.

The parent company Quiksilver had some financial problems and filed for bankruptcy in 2015, but has emerged from chapter 11 in 2016, with Roxy clothing being their mainstay, rather than the Quiksilver line of men’s clothing.
