The company is now a subsidiary of Albertson’s. The company has changed names several times over the years; Skaggs, Alpha-Beta, and others, until they settled on today’s name of Jewel-Osco.

Jewel-Osco is known for trying many different types of concepts or ideas. They are the first grocery store to begin using generic or store name products to compete with brand names.

As of 2021, the company has more than 185 locations.

The company announced in November 2021 that it had opened a distribution center for the delivery of groceries to clients.

In April 2023, according to 2022 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data collected by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), LoanDepot ranks as the third largest mortgage lender in the US.

The company sells a wide variety of famous name brand sneakers, including Jordan and Nike. The store has been expanded and remodeled from its original 680 square feet. After advertising in North West Airlines Sky Miles magazine, the company found sales quickly doubled. Williams and Coit are working together with major shoe manufacturers to create a Burn Rubber brand of shoes.

Burn Rubber has won several awards, including Best Men’s Shoe Store in 2008 in WDIV, and Best Of (Shoes) in Real Detroit magazine. The company has a 4.6 star rating on Facebook and a 4.8 rating on Google.

Boost Mobile was founded in 2000 in Australia by Pete Bourke. The company operates a mobile phone service. The company began doing business in the US in 2001 as a joint venture with Nextel, who was purchased by Sprint in 2006.

The company began by offering rates for their “push to talk” service for $1 a day, at a time when cell phone service was fairly expensive. Today, the company still offers a two-rate plan, with no contracts, similar to Metro PCS, with service when traveling to Mexico for an additional $5 more per month.

History

Boost Mobile introduced the NETGEAR Fuse along with no-contract Wi-Fi Hotspot plans in July of 2015.

T-Mobile has offered to acquire Sprint, but at this time, it appears that Sprint is not interested in the deal. In mid-2018, former CEO of Boost Mobile, Peter Bourke, says that a merger of Sprint, T-Mobile, Metro PCS, and Virgin Mobile would result in substantially higher prices for consumers.

In May 2021, Boost Mobile launched its Emergency Broadband Benefit program, which provides qualifying customers with free high-speed internet service.

Shaw’s Supermarket was founded in 1860 by George Shaw, who originally began as a teahouse in Portland, Maine. Shaw’s is one of the oldest markets in New England. The company has been sold several times over the years and today operates as a subsidiary of Albertson’s.

History

The company has more than 194 stores in 6 states after closing 169 stores in 2011. Most of the stores have undergone extensive remodeling. In 1999, the company acquired Star Markets. Shaw’s is one of the best-known supermarket names in New England and employs approximately 265,000 persons.

In mid-2013, both Shaw’s and Star Markets announced that they were removing their loyalty card programs.

In October 2022, Kroger announced that it would buy Albertsons, which owns Shaw’s Supermarkets. The deal should be completed in 2024.

Company headquarters remain in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The company has plans to relabel Shaw’s food brand label to Essential Everyday in all its stores.
