Stanberry Research was founded in 1999 as an independent investment research firm. In addition to his editorial duties, company founder, Frank Porter Stansberry, often writes opinion pieces in a variety of financial publications discussing diverse and controversial issues ranging from the auto manufacturer bailout to the European financial panic, among others.

In April of 2020, Fox Corporation acquired the company for $440 million and the agreement that Farhad Massoudi would remain CEO.

Tubi TV began broadcasting internationally, beginning with Australia in September 2019, and Mexico in January 2020. The company hopes to begin broadcasting in the UK in 2021.

To compete with Netflix, the company announced that it would begin to broadcast its own original movies and series in the fall of 2021.

CrossFlix Corporate Office

Movie producer Alan Mehrez began CrossFlix, a Christian movie, and streaming service provider, in 2017. Mehrez is a Harvard educated, veteran movie producer, who previously created the popular BloodSport series.

CrossFlix hopes to be popular among Christians and others who seek family entertainment, as the streaming service Netflix currently is.

While CrossFlix has created its own set of bible stories and children’s movies, other entertainment companies have come forward to release music videos and movies, including Green Apple Entertainment and Bridgestone multi-media group. The company recently licensed 52 Christian films through Bridgestone.

In 2015, Panasonic and Vizo offered Xumo. Other services began adding Xumo shortly after, including LG Electronics, and Funai. The company added an Android app in 2018.

CEO Colin Norris stated in 2019 that Xumo was available to 35 million homes in the US. Xumo does not require a set-top box or dongle because TVs include it in a manner similar to Roku. Xumo earns revenue from advertising.

In early February, Xumo struck a partnership with the beInSports channel.
