Stanberry Research was founded in 1999 as an independent investment research firm. In addition to his editorial duties, company founder, Frank Porter Stansberry, often writes opinion pieces in a variety of financial publications discussing diverse and controversial issues ranging from the auto manufacturer bailout to the European financial panic, among others.

Stansberry Research has also used infomercials, such as the 2011 production of “The End of America”, as a means of public information dissemination. Frank Stansberry has also been recorded using racist and homophobic slurs on his premium radio program.

In November 2003, the  SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) accused Stansberry of fraud committed while he edited various newsletters published under the umbrella of  Agora, Inc., and Agora subsidiary, Pirate Investors LLC.

 In August 2007, the court found Stansberry guilty with the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and subsequently denied a 2009 appeal.

In November 2020, the company was listed in a Forbes article saying that, between CVS and Amazon, CVS had the bigger market share.

Susan and David Ward decided early on that coffee tasted best when freshly brewed with fresh, roasted beans. During their search to make the best coffee in the world, they purchased a coffee bean roaster and began trying different roasting methods in their garage.

The couple chose the motto “Brew Good, Do Good” and committed themselves to sourcing specialty-grade coffees through direct relationships with farmers, co-ops, and importers. They also use their platform to give back to important causes in their hometown of Tampa.

The company was named for the couple’s faithful dog Buddy.

Today, Buddy Brew has 10 locations in the greater Tampa Bay, Florida, area, as well as a booming e-commerce business, shipping bags of coffee around the globe.
