Shredz Supplements was founded in 2012 by CEO Arvin Lal and Michael Dimarco.  Dimarco, a chiropractor, had given Lal a herbal weight loss formula which helped him lose weight quickly.  Lal asked Dimarco if he’d like to mass produce the product and start a business.  The company was originally called Beyond Genetics Supplements.  The company earned approximately $90,000 in 2012.

In 2013, the company began marketing on Facebook and Twitter.  This produced some results but the big leap came after they began aggressively marketing on Instagram and hiring fitness models such as Paige Hathaway to promote their products.  The result was $5 million in sales for the year.

The Instagram marketing expanded in 2014, signing other fitness models like Joey Swoll and boosting revenues to nearly $20 million.
