Former Director Pete Newman went to prison in 2010 for sexually abusing boys at the camp. Some believe that the abuse goes much further than just Newman but non-disclosure agreements made by some family members prevent further investigation.

In fact, some churches, in light of possible new allegations, have canceled contracts with Kanakuk Kamps for hosting their children’s summer camps.

In February 2022, a court awarded almost $30 million to the victims of sexual assault and abuse at the camps.

Kanakuk Kamps maintains a corporate office in Branson, Missouri.

Boston Beer Corporate Office

The Boston Beer Company was founded in 1984 by James Koch and Rhonda Kallman.  Koch was the sixth-generation, first-born son to follow in his family’s brewing footsteps, brewed his first batch of beer in his kitchen.

While serving in his role as a manufacturing consultant at BCG, Koch developed a business plan for a locally focused beer company. He invested $100,000 of his own money and raised additional funds from investors, family members, and friends including former classmates and BCG colleagues.

In 1997, the company acquired the Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewery, which allowed the company to produce its own beer, rather than rely on contract brewing from other businesses.

In April 2008, the Boston Beer Company issued its first recall due to potential defects found in certain 12-fluid-ounce glass bottles manufactured by a third-party supplier which, at the time, supplied about a quarter of the bottles that the company used.

The company went public on the NYSE (under the ticker symbol SAM) in 1995. Like many stocks, SAM has its ups and downs, but The Motley Fool states that the company is still listed as a buy due to strong leadership.

Boston Beer Company maintains a corporate office in Boston, Massachusetts.

Affirm Corporate Office

Affirm was founded in 2012 by Max Levchin, Nathan Gettings, Jeffrey Kaditz, and Alex Rampel. The company operates an online financial technology platform as a financial lender of installment loans for consumers to use at the point of sale to finance a purchase.

The company announced a partnership with Walmart in February 2019. Using this partnership, Affirm loans are available to customers in-store and on the Walmart website.

Affirm has also partnered with e-commerce platforms including Shopify, BigCommerce, and Zen-Cart.

The company is also Amazon’s exclusive buy now, pay later partner in the United States, at least through January 2023.

The company has taken some heat for allowing the platform to be used for gun purchases, charging higher interest rates that leave many consumers disenfranchised.

Affirm went public on the NASDAQ in late 2020 under the ticker symbol AFRM.

In July 2022, the company stock saw an increase of more than 25 percent, causing some people to wonder if the stock is a good buy or not.

In December 2023, the US Federal Government warned banks like Affirm that offering buy now pay later plans could come back to bite them in the behind.

George Webb Restaurants Corporate Office

George Webb founded his first lunch counter on the east side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The entire family worked at the business, with George, his wife Evelyn, and their three sons, Jim, Tom and Bob, all performing various tasks in the restaurant.

George’s son Jim suggested to his father that he should take over one of the restaurant locations in 1953. George agreed, making Jim’s location the first franchise. Other franchises followed in 1957.

Today, the company has 31 locations, all of them in Wisconsin.

The company is famous for serving its entire menu any time of the day or night. George Webb is also known for having two clocks in each location. Stories vary as to why this is with some people saying that Webb installed one clock at an angle so those who were waiting on the subway could see the time. Others say that, at one time, being open 24 hours a day was illegal so Webb set these two clocks side by side, with one of them running one minute slower than the other.

In February 2022, a restaurant employee was shot in the face by 4 women who were angry over a food order.

Because of George Webb’s policy of staying open 24 hours a day, combined with the restaurants’ reasonably low prices on food and drink, the chain has become a notorious refuge for homeless adults and juveniles. George Webb Restaurants have displayed a “No Loitering” sign in every restaurant and placed a two-dollar minimum per person and a 20-minute time limit for a visit, although this rule is not strictly enforced.

George Webb Restaurants maintains a corporate office in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
