Cornwell Tools was founded in 1919 by Eugene Cornwell, a blacksmith, in Ohio. The company manufactures their own line of automotive and diesel tools for the working professional. Two machining plants, one in Ohio, the other in Pennsylvania, produce items such as ratchets, sockets, wrenches, air tools, pry bars, screwdrivers, and chisels. Similar to MAC and SnapOn Tools, hand tools have a lifetime warranty.

Tools are sold by local franchise distributors, each of whom works a given area. Franchise owners drive trucks filled with tools to local works sites. Many franchise owners offer no interest credit to their customers.

While many franchises work their own assigned area, others are also known to sell at auto shows, gun shows, and tool shows to the everyday handy man who is not a professional mechanic.

Link Interactive was founded in 2010 in Ogden, Utah. The company is an offshoot of the Fire Protection Services Company and operates as a subsidiary. CEO Rodney Garner has been with the company since its inception in 1976. Link Interactive is a no frills home security system, frequently sold at Costco locations at a discount.

The company offers the usual alarm monitoring, video surveillance, motion detectors, fire alarms, and carbon monoxide alarms, as well as home automation systems. Customers can monitor and control their devices via their computer or smart phone. Link Interactive recently introduced their 2Gig GoControl panel, which monitors several items in one wireless control panel, including smoke alarms, water detection, freezing conditions, and fire notification.

Sticky Fingers Ribhouse, sometimes called Sticky Fingers Smokehouse, was founded in 1992 by three high school friends. The first location was in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The company is a chain of BBQ restaurants serving Memphis, Tennessee, style BBQ meats.

The company moved headquarters in September of 2010. Sticky Fingers LLC is a new entity, formed to acquire 16 locations. Today, the company has locations in 5 Southern states. Ken’s Foods owns the rights to the marketing name. In addition to the restaurants, the company sells T-shirts, cups, mugs, and baseball hats with the company logo. The BBQ sauce itself is also sold in the restaurants and in retail locations, such as supermarkets.

Sticky Fingers specializes in Memphis style BBQ ribs, with 6 different flavors and smoking techniques. Smoking is done at each location and is not merely a flavoring additive.

Purdy’s Chocolates Corporate Office

Purdy’s Chocolates was founded in 1907 after the death of Richard Purdy’s wife. He sold his barbershop business in Ontairo, and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to start over. He decided to try to make a business out of his lifelong love of chocolate and candy. Purdy sold his first chocolate candies on the street, near his home. He opened his first location in 1907.

Today, the company is one of the largest candy makers in Canada. The company has an online store that ships worldwide, as well as 33 stores in Alberta and British Columbia. Up until 1980, the company only made dark chocolates, but now offers a wide range of milk chocolates.

In the early part of the 1990’s, Purdy’s introduced their “Hedgehog” line of chocolate candies,which has become their biggest selling item. The company was family owned until a family dispute lead to the sale of the company to Eric Wilson and Charles Flavelle in 1963.

Fiesta Mart Corporate Office

Fiesta Mart was founded in 1972 in Houston, Texas, by Donald Bonham and O.C. Mendenhall. Although neither are of Hispanic origin, Bonham had previously done farming in Guatemala and Belize. He recognized that Texas had few Hispanic supermarkets. The original Fiesta Mart supermarket catered mainly to the Hispanic culture. Later, as different people made Texas their home, the markets added other ethnic foods for Koreans and Filipinos.

Today, Fiesta Mart has more than 34 supermarkets in the Houston area, with 16 more located in other areas of Texas. The company also operates Fiesta Liquor and Beverage Mart brands. The company was acquired in 2004 by Grocers Supply. In 2011, Fiesta Mart purchased 11 Carnival brand stores and in July of 2016, they acquired 11 Minyard locations in the Northern part of Texas.

In addition to food, locations offer a variety of services including money orders, Western Union, utility company payments, lottery ticket sales, sporting event tickets, and vehicle license registration renewal payments.
