La Paz Mexican Seafood Restaurant was founded in 1979 in Canoga Park, California, by chef Oscar Iturralde. The original restaurant was located in Canoga Park, but was moved to Calabasas, California, in 1989.

The restaurant is best known for its Sunday morning brunch and Happy Hour, which boasts more than 140 different types of tequila, as well as Mexican beers and brandy.

Clearwater Historic Lodge Corporate Office

Clearwater Historic Lodge was founded in 1915 by Charles and Petra Boostrom in Grand Marais, Minnesota. The company rents cabins and outfits canoes. Originally named Clearwater Lake Lodge, it was the first lodging built on the Gunflint Trail.

Today, the lodge is owned by the VanTassel family, who have expanded the lodge and remodeled some of the cabins. The lodge sits on 12 acres and features 7 lakefront cabins, as well as two rooms above the main lodge. There are also “bunk houses” for hikers or hunters. Most of the furniture, including the stone fireplace, were made by Charlie Boostrom when they owned the lodge. Most nights, the daughter of the Boostrom, Harriet, comes to talk about the old times and what it was like growing up at the lodge.

Clearwater Historic Lodge has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is the oldest, original, whole log structure in Minnesota.

Avon Driving School was founded in 2001 in Simsbury, Connecticut. Owned since 2004 by current CEO Angela Brooks, the company offers classes in safety and defensive driving.

The company has two locations, one in Avon, Connecticut, the other in Simsbury. The school as a success rate of more than 90%. The program contains a total of 38 hours, 8 hours, of which are on the road driving, as well as a mandatory 8 hour drug and safety program required by the state of Connecticut. There is also a 2 hour training class for parents.

Avon Driving School has certified instructors and clear, well prepared plans so students can obtain their driver’s license. The company sponsors many DUI Awareness and Distracted Drivers campaigns, to help make teens and young adults aware of the dangers of driving while intoxicated and/or distracted driving (texting).
