Woodside Farm Creamery Corporate Office

Woodside Farm Creamery is a real working farm that mainly involves dairy cows and chickens. The Mitchell family has owned this farm since 1796 and up until 1961, its main focus was on milk production. Today, the farm has approximately 30 dairy cows, but the purpose now is to provide milk, cream, and butterfat for its ice cream sales.

The company opened their store making ice cream and other frozen treats, including shakes, as well as homemade goodies such as fudge, cakes, pies, and brownies in 1998. Chickens were added to the farm in 2015 and free range, organic eggs are now also offered for sale.

Sheep and goats are kept to keep the grasses trimmed around the ice cream shop, as well as to provide entertainment for guests. The store is open seasonally, and offers catering services as well.

Today, Farmer Boys has 100 locations, mostly in Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada. The company began franchising in 2002, with the first franchise being in Temecula, California.

The company offers a loyalty rewards program for those who download and use its cell phone app.

Farmer Boys was voted as The Best Hamburger by MyFoxLA Hotlist Inland Empire, and has previously won awards for their fried zucchini and onion rings.

Despite the pandemic, the company opened new locations, with the most recent one opening in March 2021 in Gilbert, Arizona.

Pick Up Stix was founded in 1989 by a Chinese immigrant to America named Charlie Zhang. He adopted typical Asian cuisine to suit American tastes and opened his first restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.  Pick Up Stix differs from other restaurants by cooking their food at the time of order, using high heat burners in traditional Chinese woks.

The company offers dine in or take out food, a limited delivery area, and off site catering. The company also supplies private schools with a lunch program. Pick Up Stix offers beef, shrimp, and chicken entrees, brown or white rice, fried rice, egg rolls, and a variety of noodle based dishes. The company features their “House Special Chicken”, which is dark chicken meat fried with brown sugar and soy sauce.

The pair opened their first location in Newport Beach, California, because they felt they had to travel too far to find authentic Mexican tacos. They enlisted the help of a Mexican-American friend to be certain they were using an authentic recipe.

The company began franchise operations in 2004. The first franchise was in San Clemente, California.

In 2008, the company opened its first location in Japan.

The Mohammed brothers, Michael, Dave, Dan, and Joey, opened a franchise in Canada in 2010. They loved the company so much that they purchased it for an undisclosed amount in 2012.

Today, Chronic Tacos has 35 locations in California, Nevada, and British Columbia, Canada. All 4 Mohammed brothers work for the company, with Michael acting as both CEO and CFO. The company plans to expand to 100 locations in the next 5 years.

Chronic Tacos celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021 by doing a nationwide tour.

The original location literally was a wood shack with a tin roof, complete with the outhouse in the back.  The company serves barbeque chicken, ribs, and pork, using a barbeque sauce recipe which came from Shane’s grandfather.

The company began franchising in 2005. As of 2016, Shane’s Rib Shack has 74 locations in 10 states. The company frequently sponsors giveaways as a means of giving back to the community, such as free baby back ribs to the first 100 customers in April of 2016.

In March 2021, a customer appreciation program paid off for a Columbia, Georgia, woman who was the winner of $25,000. 

Shane’s Rib Shack also offers their barbeque sauce for sale, as well hats, T-shirts, and coffee mugs with the company logo on them.
