Davanni’s Pizza and Hot Hoagies, more commonly known as Davanni’s, was founded in 1947 in New York, under the name Pontillo’s. Not liking the name, owners played with different names until they came up with Davanni’s. The company has operated under this name since 1983. Davanni’s operates a chain of pizza and sandwich shops in the state of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and one in Chicago, Illinois.

Currently, the company has 22 locations in 4 states. The restaurant is best known for using local suppliers for all their ingredients. In addition to pizza, the company also offers hoagies, lasagna, calzones, pastas, salads, desserts, as well as a vegetarian menu. Each location offers “party rooms” and now serves craft beer and wine.

Warehouse Market Corporate Office

Warehouse Market was founded by Clint Cox in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1938. The company operates a chain of supermarkets in the greater Tulsa, Oklahoma, area, under the name The Colonial Store.

When the company was founded, the Great Depression was still ongoing, but the store did so well that Cox took out a $10,000 loan against his life insurance policy to open a second store, Warehouse Market. Today, the company has 9 locations and is still family owned and operated with Clint V. Cox, Jr., the third generation of Cox’s, working as CEO.

Warehouse Market was forced to close two stores in the early part of 2047, due to fierce competition in the area, according to Cox, Jr. He stated that the company hoped to reopen elsewhere in the state at a later date. Company headquarters remain in Tusa, Oklahoma.

This Is It! BBQ & Seafood Corporate Office

This Is It! BBQ & Seafood, known more commonly as This Is It, was founded by current CEO and owner Shelly Anthony in 1993. After working in his parents restaurants during the early part of his life, Anthony wanted to create a restaurant that was different. This Is It! operates a chain of BBQ restaurants in the state of Georgia.

The company curently has 9 locations in the greater Atlanta, Georgia, area, some of them franchises. The restaurants offer Southern style soul food, including BBQ rib tips, fried catfish nuggets, and neck bone dinners. Online ordering for pick up is available, as is catering. Customers can also request a “Food Truck”, which delivers meals to parks, businesses, and other locations.

In 2011, This Is It! was ordered to pay back wages and fines for non-compliance with state minimum wage laws, overworking minors and forcing them to late hours, as well as a lack of overtime pay. Company headquarters are located in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Fairway Market was founded in the early 1930’s in New York, New York. The original store, located on West 47th Street, was a modest produce store. Today, Fairway Market is one of the highest grossing food retailers when speaking in terms of sales per square foot.

The company has annual revenue in excess of $810 million and employs approximately 5,000 persons. The company has 14 locations in the greater New York City area, along with liquor stores, Fairway Wines. Sterling Investment Partners purchased a controlling interest in the company and set out to aggressively expand the company.

The company filed for bankruptcy in May of 2016, after their parent group went public. Company headquarters remain in New York City and the original store in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, remains open at this time.

Chopt Restaurants Corporate Office

Chopt Creative Salad Restaurant was founded in 2001 in New York City, New York, by current CEO and co-owner Nicholas Marsh. The company operates a chain of restaurants that mainly serve salads as a main course.

The company is different in that it serves salads or “salad wraps” as the main course. No refined sugars are used in the restaurant’s dressings, bur agave nectar and honey are used as replacements. Typical salads include fish, shrimp, or even nuts, fruits and grains. Customers order their salads, watch them being made, then pay for them at the end of the “salad bar”. Vegan choices, as well as a gluten-free menu, are also available.

In 2016, the company announced that it hired salad blogger Julia Sherman to represent their brand.

In October 2020, Chopt opened its 5th New Jersey location.
