eSnipe is an online auction “sniping” website which allows users to place a bid on an eBay auction during the last 2 or 3 seconds  of bid. If a user does not win the auction, there is no charge. The company website also allows users to cancel a bid up to one minute before the auction ends. This in contrast to eBay’s policy which forces bidders to request cancellation from the seller.

eSnip has more than 10,000 bids placed each day and has an average revenue of $16 million each month. The company has more than 50,000 registered users. In December of 2000, eSnipe was put on auction on eBay. Tom Campbell, former Microsoft Program Manager and current eSnipe CEO won the auction via eSnipe.

TJ Maxx Corporate Office

TJ Maxx was founded in 1976 by the Zayre department store chain.  Zayre was later sold to Ames and renamed to TJX Companies, Incorporated.

In 1994, the first European store opened in Bristol, called TK Maxx.

In 2007, development in Europe began to slow as the company started to focus on revamping existing stores.  Nonetheless, the first German store opened this year.

In 2008, the first central London location is opened. In March of 2009, the company launched its e-commerce site initially selling only womens handbags. The company later expanded their sales department to include most of the items that are sold in their retail locations.

TJ Maxx had $27.4 billion in revenue in 2014. The company is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol of TJX.

The company is still opening new locations, including one in Pottsville, Pennslyvania, in June 2021. 

In July 2021, a local San Antonio, Texas, TJ Maxx store donated pet food and pet beds to a food bank for the needy.
