Cincinnati Bell was originally founded in 1873 as the City and Suburban Telegraph Company, since the invention of the telephone was still 3 years away. The name was changed in 1903 to Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company. Today, the company offers telephone service, high speed internet, and energy service to retail customers in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

The company has more than 3,000 employees and annual revenue in  2011 of $18.6 million. Cincinnati Bell did offer wireless phone service to cell phone customers, however, in April of 2014, the company sold its wireless service to Verizon Communications.

Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon Corporate Office

Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon was founded in the Winston/Salem area of North Carolina in 1989. The restaurant offers a casual dining experience  with typical American fare such as steaks, seafood, burgers, and salads. Each location has an old time, Texas ranch decor. By 2008, the company had 152 locations.

The restaurant chain fell on hard times.. It was purchased in 2006 by Lone Star Funds, an unrelated, private equity firm for $600 million. Once publicly traded on the NASDAQ, Lone Star Steakhouse is now privately owned. Since its purchase, newer restaurant locations and remodeled locations no longer feature the Texas ranch decor, but favor a more upscale, trendy type of motif. The menu has also been revamped and today features 25 items under $10. This has dramatically increased sales.

Today, Lone Star Steakhouse operates 78 restaurants in 29 states.

Bright House Networks is a telecommunications company that was founded in 2003. The company offers home security systems, automation systems, high speed internet service, cable television, home and business phone service, as well as business data solutions.

In April of 2016, Charter Communications received FCC approval to purchase approximately 14 percent of the company for an estimated $10.4 billion. Time Warner Communications is also interested in purchasing a piece of Bright House Networks and is awaiting FCC approval.

The company is privately owned and is based out of Syracuse, New York. Bright House Networks services 2.2 million customers and is the 6th largest cable television provider in the United States.

In March of 2009, the company was added to Expedia’s group of preferred vehicle rental companies. The company also offers service through Orbits, JetBlue, Travelocity, and Priceline.Com.

In  May 2020, a federal judge nixed the arbitration clause, which forces the parent company, the Avis Budget Group, to face a class action lawsuit claiming the company charged renters for unauthorized products and services.
