Shane’s Rib Shack Corporate Office

Shane’s Rib Shack was founded in 2002 in McDonough, Georgia, by current CEO Shane Thompson and his wife, Stacy. The original location literally was a wood shack with a tin roof, complete with the outhouse in the back. The company serves barbeque chicken, ribs, and pork, using a barbeque sauce recipe which came from Shane’s grandfather.

The company began franchising in 2005. As of 2016, Shane’s Rib Shack has 74 locations in 10 states. The company frequently sponsors giveaways as a means of giving back to the community, such as free baby back ribs to the first 100 customers in April of 2016.

In March 2021, a customer appreciation program paid off for a Columbia, Georgia, woman who was the winner of $25,000.

Shane’s Rib Shack also offers their barbeque sauce for sale, as well hats, T-shirts, and coffee mugs with the company logo on them.

Trivago is an online discount hotel reservation service. Founded in Dusseldorf, Germany, in 2004 by Peter Vinnemeier, Malte Siewert, and Rolf Schrömgen. This trio still owns 40% of the company, and Expedia purchased 61% of the company in 2012.

Trivago has grown tremendously over the past decade. It now operates in 55 countries around the world. The company has more than 1,000 employees and had $4 billion in revenue in 2015. The company claims to be the largest hotel search engine in the world, with more than 250 booking sites.

The company also offers a free app for both Android and iOS devices. Each hotel listed must receive at least 20 ratings before Trivago assigns the hotel a rating. Ratings are from 0 to 100 and are based entirely on results from “mystery shoppers”.

In July 2018, Trivago lost more than 30% of its stock price as the company struggled to compete with businesses such as Booking.com. The company then began laying off employees to counter the loss of profits.

Tijuana Flats Corporate Office

Tijuana Flats was founded in 1995 by Brian Wheeler. Wheeler loved Tex-Mex cuisine and wanted to start his own restaurant. Wheeler was just out of college, however, and had no funds. He borrowed $20,000 from his parents and opened the first location in Winter Park, Florida.

Today, Tijuana Flats has more than 100 locations in 6 states and has 3,000 full time employees. Wheeler’s father also works for the company as well. Wheeler also markets his own hot sauce, which is sold throughout the US, called “Smack My Ass & Call Me Sally.”

In addition to the restaurants and hot sauce, the company also provides catering service. Tijuana Flats also donates all of the profit from their Just In Queso hot sauce to local charities, such as the American Red Cross.

Drury Hotels Corporate Office

Drury Hotels was founded in 1959 by James Drury. The original hotel was in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This 108 room hotel was called Holiday Inn. The first hotel built to be called Drury was located in Sikeston, Missouri, in 1973. Today, the hotel chain has more than 120 locations in 21 states.

The hotel chain also goes by other names including Pear Tree Inns, Drury Inn and Suites, Drury Plaza Hotel, and Drury Suites. The company is still owned by the Drury family, with Chuck Drury currently working as CEO and President.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was founded in 1941 in Dallas, Texas, by Travis Dickey. The company operates a chain of barbecued and grilled meat restaurants across the US. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is the largest barbecue franchise in America.
