L-3 Communications Corporate Office

L-3 Communications is an aerospace and defense company.

The company was founded by Frank Lanza, Robert LaPenta, and Lehman Brothers in 1997 and was formed to acquire several business units from Lockheed Martin.

L-3 Communications has grown through acquisitions, notably divisions of Raytheon in 2000 and 2002 and Crestview Aerospace in 2006.

Today L-3 is one of the top ten U.S. government contractors, providing services in Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.

The company’s clients include the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Government intelligence agencies, NASA, aerospace contractors, and commercial telecommunications and wireless customers.

L-3 Communications is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol LLL, is a member of the S&P 500, is #197 in the Fortune 500, has 48,000 employees, and had $12.42 billion in revenue in 2013.

L-3 Communications was acquired by the Harris Corporation in late 2018.

Sitel Corporate Office

Sitel was founded by James F. Lynch in 1985 as SITEL (Systems International TELemarketing), a customer care and teleservices company.

Lynch signed his first major client in 1988, Allstate Insurance, after which the business grew rapidly.

SITEL went public on the NASDAQ in 1985, and six months later moved to the New York Stock Exchange.

In 2006 SITEL had 70 call centers in 25 countries and over 30,000 employees.

In 2006 the company announced a merger with Client Logic, another outsourcing firm. After the merger the company announced that it would know be branded Sitel, now in lowercase letters.

Sitel is privately owned by private equity funds.

Today Sitel offers inbound and outbound sales, subscription renewal, database cleansing, lead generation, order fulfillment, customer acquisition, back-office processing, collections, and technical support.

In March 2022, Okta admits that hundreds of corporations, including Sitel, had compromised accounts after Okta was hacked. 

Sitel maintains a corporate office in Miami, Florida.

Leap Wireless was founded when it was spun-off from Qualcomm in 1999.

The company was founded to provide no-contract, flexible payment plans. To this end the company founded Cricket Communications, which primarily targets the youth market.

By 2007, Leap reported an operating profit of $102 million and $3.09 billion in service revenue.

In 2010 Leap entered into an agreement with Sprint Nextel which allowed Leap to offer its products and services through Sprint’s 3G network.

In 2013 Leap announced plans to merge with AT&T. In 2014 the merger was approved by the Federal Communications Commission.

The channel received negative reviews and calls of bait and switch after it advertised that Paul Rosolie, host of Eaten Alive, was going to go headfirst and be eaten by a 20-foot anaconda snake. After 90 minutes, it became clear that Rosolie was wearing a compression suit and that while the confused snake did attack, he was not going to be eaten.
