Mouser Electronics was founded in 1964 in El Cajon, California, by Jerry Mouser, a physics teacher who was frustrated that electrical components he needed were hard to find. Mouser moved the company to Mansfield, Texas, in 1983.
The company is an eCommerce and catalog distributor of electrical components. In January of 2000, the company became a subsidiary of TTI, Inc. Warren Buffet, owner of Berkshire Hathaway, purchased a majority portion of TTI in 2007. That same year, the company expanded both its warehouse and its office space by more than 231,000 square feet.
Mouser Electronics has an extensive website, including products from more than 5,000 manufacturers, along with access to approximately 5 million data sheets. The company has received numerous awards, including one in 2014 from connector manufacturer Harting, for New Customer Growth, as well as New Product Growth.
