Austin natives Zac Maurais and Ben Doherty piloted a version of Favor in January 2013 as part of the Boost.VC accelerator program in San Luis Obispo, California. The pair returned to Austin, Texas, later that year and officially launched Favor Delivery on June 5, 2013.
The company operates an on-demand delivery service via a mobile phone app, delivering nearly anything in less than one hour, even from stores or restaurants that don’t offer delivery.
In October 2015, Favor announced that they had completed 1 million deliveries and by 2017, more than 5 million deliveries.
HEB grocery acquired the company in February 2018.
Circle K began offering delivery within the state of Texas via Favor in October 2019.
HEB confirmed that company headquarters for Favor would remain in Austin and that the CEO and employees would remain unchanged.
