Ackerman Security was founded in 1967 by current CEO Bruce Turry, and has headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Turry was followed home one evening and was robbed, his house burglarized. Rather than wish the police could have done something, Turry decided to make his own alarm company to help prevent this from happening to others.

The company has more than 47,000 homes and business clients across the US and has seen tremendous growth over the past decade.
The Imperial Capital Group has acquired Ackerman Security in the early part of 2015.
