In December 2020, Medical News Today listed Sun Basket as one of the best organic meal delivery services.

Billie Razors Corporate Office

Georgian Gooley had been using men’s razors for decades to avoid paying the “pink tax” that is typically applied to women’s razor and shaving products.

In 2017, Gooley and friend Jason Bravman decided to join the subscription razor marketplace, but make their company exclusive to women’s products.

Gooley stated in an interview that ” Instead of speaking to women in clichés and making them feel ashamed about their body hair, we wanted to celebrate womankind and reinforce that shaving is a personal choice, not an expectation.”

The company operates a subscription razor service where clients can order new razors and shaving products online and receive them as often as they wish (monthly, every quarter, etc.)

Gooley found it strange that most shaving ads show women with no hair. She introduced a marketing campaign called Project Body Hair, where women post real photos of their body hair, whether its a unibrow, underarm hair or wherever hair grows on their body. These pictures are being added to Unsplash, where they can be used by the public.

Procter and Gamble purchased Billie in January 2020 for an undisclosed amount.

The company still maintains a corporate office, at this writing, in New York, New York. It is unknown if the acquisition by Procter and Gamble will change this.

In August 2019, Le Tote purchased Lord & Taylor for $100 million. Le Tote, founded in 2012, began by placing stores inside the struggling Lord & Taylor, eventually buying the company for a small amount.

Le Tote has competition from other clothing rental companies, such as Rent the Runway, however, Rent the Runway mainly focuses on the high end, event clothing, and Le Tote is more everyday or business clothing oriented.

Le Tote is especially popular for those interested in maternity wear, who believe that renting, rather than buying, maternity clothes is a smart financial move.

In late June 2020, Le Tote filed a lawsuit against Urban Outfitters, claiming that Urban Outfitters had violated a non-disclosure agreement created in 2018.

NURX was founded after two high school friends, Hans Gangeskar and Dr. Edvard Engesæth, had a conversation about female birth control. Both men came from Norway, which has single-payer health care and zero issues regarding birth control. This pair of friends decided that they could fill a need by offering women a variety of health care options, including birth control and HIV testing, through the mail.

Within 3 days of launching the site, the company began receiving national attention through a variety of media, causing a growth rate of 30 percent every week.

During the quarantine period in the spring of 2020, NURX began to see an increase in requests for birth control, in many cities as much as a 50 percent increase.

As of May 7th, 2020, the company states that it has served more than 500,000 patients.

In July 2019, NURX expanded to the state of Kentucky, where an estimated 260,000 women have no access to healthcare, contraceptives, or the morning-after pill.

As of March 20, 2020, customers can ask for a test kit for the coronavirus. They need to fill out a questionnaire and a healthcare professional will determine if a testing kit would be helpful in determining if the patient has COVID-19.
