Scentsy was founded in 2003 by two sister-in-laws, Kara Egan and Collette Gunnell in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company began making light bulb based candle and scented wax warmers.

Orville Thompson purchased the company from the women in 2004. He re-launched it to be the home party based business it is today. The company sells its products via multi-level, direct marketing. The company grew quickly and as of 2013, had more than 75,000 sales consultants and 1,013 employees who work at company headquarters in Meridian, Idaho.

Scentsy had annual revenue in 2011 of $190 million. In addition to the original candle warmers and scented wax, the company has expanded into scented bath products, laundry items, and cosmetics.

BikeBandit was founded in San Diego, California, by Ken Wahlster. The company operates a motorcycle parts and accessories online store. Besides motorcycles, the company also offers products and parts for ATV’s, snowmobiles, street and offroad vehicles. BikeBandit released their mobile phone app in early 2010 and sponsors numerous motorcycle races and competition events.

Parsons Gifts was founded in 18756in Cumming, Georgia.  Originally, the company was a general merchandise store, but Calvin and Kate Parsons set up a gift store in 1925. The original building burned in 1982, and the company moved from their downtown location to the Tri-County Plaza.

The company offers a gift, greeting card, and home decor stores. Parsons Gifts is the largest seasonal Christmas store in Georgia.  From the one original store in Cumming, the company now has three locations in Atlanta and Alpharetta as well.

The company currently has more than 24,000 sales associates, with approximately 300 of these working at company headquarters in Alexandria, Minnesota. Lehman’s Corporate Office

Lehman’s Hardware and Appliances, today, simply called Lehman’s, was founded in 1955 by Jay Lehman. His idea was to sell non-electrical and other types of old fashioned tools and hardware to the Amish community in Ohio. Business was nothing more than average until the oil embargo of 1973, when everyone began looking for ways to beat the energy crisis.

Today, Lehman’s specializes in tools and survival gear for environmentalists, survival buffs, Preppers, and those who prefer “off the grid” living. The Amish community used to make up 95% of company sales, today, they account for only about 5% of annual revenue. The company remodeled the store front, using Amish workers, to restore it to its original 1955 facade, although the store has doubled in size over the past decade.

The store is a popular tourist attraction as well, with many people believing that it is a type of museum, when in fact, every item in the store is for sale and is fully functional.
