Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom Corporate Office

Back in 1976, two friends in Colorado decided that they really missed old fashioned Chicago style pizza and decided to open their own restaurant. Originally named Old Chicago Pasta & Pizza, the restaurant chain was an immediate success.

The company was sold in 2013 to Craftworks Restaurant & Breweries, who changed the name to Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom. With 94 locations in 22 states, the company recently decided to open the business to franchising, with plans to open at least 28 restaurants in an additional 8 states.

Old Chicago Pizza is best known for their round, thick crust style pizza and craft beer selection. In 2017, the company added a lower priced appetizer selection, as well as increased their wing selection from 4 to 10 different flavors.

Bloomin’ Brands can trace its roots back to 1988 when friends Tim Gannon, Bob Basham, and Chris Sullivan decided they wanted to create a casual dining restaurant that had a laid-back theme and incredible food. The original name of their company was Multi-Venture Partners, Inc. The company opened their first restaurant in Tampa, Florida, and named it Outback Steakhouse.

The chain was incredibly successful and the company went public on the NASDAQ in 1991, with a total of 49 locations. It was at this same time that the name was changed to Outback Steakhouse, Inc.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, more commonly known as Fleming’s, was founded in Newport Beach, California, by Paul Fleming, who also founded P.F. Chang’s, and Bill Allen. The company operates a chain of upscale steakhouses, which offer a selection of more than 100 wines by the bottle or by the glass.

From the single location which opened in 1998, the company has now expanded to 68 locations in the US and one location in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse operates as a subsidiary of Bloomin’ Brands, who acquired the company in 1999.

The company recently announced that they would temporarily close their original location in Newport Beach, California, for a $4 million overhaul, both inside and out, including adding more than 40 seats to the restaurant and bar area. Remodeling is also scheduled to begin in late 2017 or early 2018 at the El Segundo, California, location. El Segundo will still offer patio seating during remodeling, which is expected to add 65 additional seats.

Roy’s Restaurant Corporate Office

Roy’s Restaurant was founded by James Beard Foundation Award winner Roy Yamaguchi in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The company operates a chain of restaurants which feature a fusion of Hawaiian, French, and Japanese foods.

Yamaguchi says that his love of different foods originates from his Hawaiian born father and Japanese mother. After opening his first location in Honolulu, Yamaguchi expanded his chain to 29 locations in the US and internationally.

The restaurant chain is known for having an upscale atmosphere that is popular for weddings and large parties.

In 2000, Yamaguchi sold his interest in all mainland and international locations to Bloomin’ Brands for $10 million. Yamaguchi still owns the 6 locations on the Hawaiian islands. Bloomin Brands sold the chain to United Ohana, LLC in late 2014.

Wild Wing Cafe Corporate Office

Wild Wing Cafe was founded in 1990 in Hilton Head, South Carolina, by Cecil & Diane Crowley. After hosting numerous Super Bowl parties at their house, the couple decided to open a restaurant which featured their beloved chicken wing recipes.

The company began with a single location and 8 different sauces. On their first day of business, the company actually ran out of food due to unexpected crowds.

Unlike many restaurants at the time, Cecil and Diane insisted on using fresh ingredients, rather than relying on frozen or prepackaged sauces. Most of the sauces were the Crowley’s own recipes, so the ingredients are kept under wraps.

In addition to wings with 33 different sauces, the company offers a variety of other foods, including soups, salads, wraps, burgers, and a host of sandwiches, as well as wide range of draft beers. Almost all locations offer free live music 7 days a week.

As of 2017, the company has 47 locations in 10 states, as well as plans to double the number of locations by 2020, according to CEO Tom Lewison.
