Les Kelley began the Kelley Kar Company back in 1918. He had 3 Model T Fords for sale. By using data that he collected from his dealership, Kelley published the company’s first Blue Book in 1926, which became a standard guide in the automotive trade for determining car value.

Kelley Blue Book, Inc., was formed in 1926 and Kelley’s automotive dealership continued for several decades. By the 1960s, however, the company sold the dealership and focused full-time on the KBB.

KBB became the first car selling guide to use mileage as a part of determining a car’s value.

History

In 1995, Kelley Blue Book created its company website, which contained tips and pricing information from its hardcopy guide.

In 2012-2014, Harris Poll recognized Kelley Blue Book as the Online Auto Shopping Brand of the Year.

The company specializes in collecting data and information on individuals, even those who do not visit or use the company’s sites.

PeopleLooker is a public record search engine that can perform background checks and reverse phone lookups, as well as email and property searches.

History

PeopleLooker offers a free trial period of 7 days, after which, clients are charged monthly fees. Numerous complaints state that it can be difficult to stop the monthly charges.

The Better Business Bureau says PeopleLooker is not accredited and that it has a C+ rating.

The parent company, Lifetime Value, was listed in the Inc. 5,000 list of Best Workplaces of 2021.

Lifetime Value Company has headquarters in New York, New York, but PeopleLooker maintains a corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia.

LendGo was founded in 2005 by current CEO Cyrus Zahabian. The company operates a platform that connects those seeking a mortgage with banks and finance companies. The idea is that banks will compete to offer qualified buyers the best possible rates.

LendGo is completely free to consumers and due to the recent Federal stimulus programs, LendGo has seen a significant increase in clients looking to refinance.

The company claims to have worked with more than 10 million clients.

History

LendGo is not a mortgage provider, it merely supplies the platform to connect buyers with financial institutions.

However, LendGo does put your information out there so that a wide range of banks and lending institutions have access to your phone number, email address, etc. Some clients have complained on the BBB website that they were flooded with unwanted calls and emails.

Stanberry Research was founded in 1999 as an independent investment research firm. In addition to his editorial duties, company founder, Frank Porter Stansberry, often writes opinion pieces in a variety of financial publications discussing diverse and controversial issues ranging from the auto manufacturer bailout to the European financial panic, among others.

Stansberry Research has also used infomercials, such as the 2011 production of “The End of America”, as a means of public information dissemination. Frank Stansberry has also been recorded using racist and homophobic slurs on his premium radio program.
