In 1999, Alcatel acquired the company for $1.5 billion and in 2016, private equity investors at Hellman and Friedman purchased a $900 million stake in Genesys from majority owners Permira and Technology Crossover Ventures, valuing the company at $3.8 billion.

Genesys is an American software company that offers customer experience and call center technology to businesses. It uses both cloud-based and hybrid cloud software.

In March 2020, the company acquired nGUVU, a partner purchased to add gamification to its workforce engagement management suite.

In September 2022, ValidSoft’s platform Trusted Experience, became available on the Genesys App Foundry.

Also in September 2022, Genesys was named a leader in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for contact center as a service.

History

Today, IGN focuses on games, television, comics, technology, films, and other media.

Originally a network of desktop websites, IGN is now also distributed on mobile platforms and console programs on the Xbox and PlayStation, FireTV, Roku, YouTube, Twitch, Hulu, and Snapchat.

IGN was sold to publishing company Ziff Davis in February 2013 and now operates as a subsidiary.

In September 2022, IGN Entertainment placed banners on games expressing condolences to the Royal Family after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Despite the sale to Ziff Davis, Inc., IGN Entertainment headquarters remain in San Francisco, California.

Growing up in Vancouver, Canada, Brian Hill worked for his father’s clothing store Hills of Kerrisdale. He learned the business from the ground up and while he attended college, he realized that there was a gap between the trendy clothing of young women and the stylish but older generation.

Aritzia was founded in 1984. The first location was in the Oakridge Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia.

History

Aritzia went international in 2005 with locations in most major US cities including Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, New York, and others.

As of 2021, the company had 105 locations in the US alone.

The company maintains a large warehouse in Vancouver and occasionally offers sales directly from this location. In 2022, Aritzia gave away 200 shopping sprees from the warehouse.

In September 2022, the company partnered with fashion designer Emma Chamberlain on a new clothing collection that will be released later in the year.
