BHLDN was founded Valentines day in 2011. Originally, the company only sold their products online, with a brick and mortar store opening in Houston, Texas, later in 2011. The company designs and sells wedding dresses, vintage wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and accessories for wedding apparel.

The company operates as a subsidiary of Urban Outfitters. BHLDN is also found in Anthropology stores in most major cities in the US. The company carries and works with some of the most famous fashion designers, including Fleur Wood, Catherine Deane, and Tracy Reese. For wedding invitations, the company has paired up with Wedding Divas of Shutterfly.

BHLDN is short for the Dutch word “Beholden”, which means to keep, as in forever.

Body Glove was founded in Redondo Beach, California, by twin brothers Bob and Bill Meistrell in their sports shop called Dive N Surf, This pair of brothers has been credited with the development of the first practical wetsuit. After borrowing $1,800 from their mother, the pair invested in their business, eventually inventing the neoprene wetsuit to keep surfers warm.

The company designs and sells surfing and swimwear, including wetsuits, board shorts and shirts, phone cases, backpacks, and footwear and is run by almost every member of the Meistrell family. As of 2006, the company had more than $200 million in annual revenue.

Body Glove is known around the world, with retailers selling the brand in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Germany.

Today, Alfred Angelo is one of the world’s largest designers and manufacturers of wedding dresses. In addition to wedding dresses, the company also designs and sells bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, as well as wedding accessories, such as veils. Dresses are sold at more than 2,500 locations in 34 countries.

On July 13, 2017 the chain abruptly closed all 60 retail locations and announced they are filing bankruptcy. Many brides are being stranded without dresses or with dresses that need alterations.

SAS Shoes, which is an acronym for San Antonio Shoemakers, was founded in San Antonio, Texas, in 1976 by Terry Armstrong and Lew Hayden. The company is best known for making almost all their shoes right in San Antonio, with a few styles sewn by hand just across the border in Acuna, Mexico.

The company began with just 13 cobblers, making shoes the old fashioned way. In 1985, they opened a larger factory in Del Rio, Texas. A few styles are still made by hand. There are currently more than 200 SAS locations, as well as being sold by more than 100 authorized retailers. The company also has an active eCommerce site.

SAS Shoes continues to be family owned and operated. The Comfort and Support Team of SAS Shoes donates shoes to victims of natural disasters. The company states that they have donated more than 14,000 pairs of new shoes to the needy.
