At a time when sports bars had yet to become popular, Bryant and Barber wanted a place to enjoy sports games with family and friends, but not at the typical seedy bar. The Sports Page offers a mobile phone app where food can be ordered in advance to go or for dining in. The restaurants are known for their wide ranging menu, which includes everything from salad to Ribeye steaks, seafood to pasta. Catering and a kids menu are also available.

The company currently has 3 locations in North Carolina, the original in Charlotte, Denver, and Mooresville. Company headquarters are located in Charlotte. The company has solid 4 star ratings on Yelp, Zomato, and 4.5 stars on Facebook.

History

Key Food Stores are part of a supermarket co-operative that operates stores under the Key Food Marketplace, Key Fresh & Natural, Food Dynasty, Urban Market, Food World, Food Universe Marketplace, The Food Emporium, and Super Fresh names. The company expands mainly through acquisition, including the most recent one in 2015, where 23 A&P stores were acquired in a bankruptcy filing. Currently, including their latest acquisition, the company has 324 locations.

Key Food Stores is now the largest supermarket chain in New York City.

During the coronavirus pandemic of 2020-2021, Key Food drastically cut hours. As of October 2022, the company announced a return to 24/7 operations.

Company headquarters are located in Staten Island, New York.

Great Floors

Great Floors was founded by Keith and Marge Chadderdon in the early part of the 1970’s in and around Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The Chadderdon’s traveled in a truck through Idaho and Montana, selling carpet and other types of flooring. The first store opened in Coeur d’Alene, under the name of Carpet Center.

Today, Great Floors has 16 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest. The company sells and installs a wide variety of flooring, including carpet, hardwood, and laminate, but recently began offering greener options as well, such as cork, bamboo, and natural linoleum. In addition to flooring, the company installs countertops for kitchens and baths, as well as commercial building needs as well.

Great Floors is still owned and operated by the Chadderdon family. Headquarters are still located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, just a few hundred feet from where the original showroom was located.

Davanni’s Pizza and Hot Hoagies, more commonly known as Davanni’s, was founded in 1947 in New York, under the name Pontillo’s. Not liking the name, owners played with different names until they came up with Davanni’s. The company has operated under this name since 1983. Davanni’s operates a chain of pizza and sandwich shops in the state of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and one in Chicago, Illinois.

Currently, the company has 22 locations in 4 states. The restaurant is best known for using local suppliers for all their ingredients. In addition to pizza, the company also offers hoagies, lasagna, calzones, pastas, salads, desserts, as well as a vegetarian menu. Each location offers “party rooms” and now serves craft beer and wine.

Davanni’s Pizza is family owned and operated, with no franchises. Headquarters are now located in Plymouth, Minnesota.

ARCO Corporate Office

ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company) can trace its roots back as far as 1866 when it was called Atlantic Petroleum Storage Company. ARCO became a part of Standard Oil for a time, then became private once again, opening its first gas station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1915.

History

Today, ARCO belongs to BP, one of the largest suppliers of gas and oil in the world. ARCO gas stations and their attached “AM/PM” convenience stores are found only on the West Coast of the US. ARCO gas stations are known as “no frill” service stations with no attendants. Machines accept cash or debit card payments only and those using debit cards are charged an additional .35 cent fee. Despite this, ARCO remains one of the most popular gas stations on the West Coast, most likely due to their lower price on gas overall.

The company once had headquarters located in downtown Los Angeles, but has since moved to La Palma, California. Many of the ARCO signs have also been replaced with a combination of ARCO/BP insignias, but it is unknown if all ARCO signs will eventually be replaced.
