NetZero is an internet service provider, which was founded in 1998 by Ronald Burr, Stacy Haitsuka, Harold MacKenzie, and Marwan Zebian. The company is based in Woodland Hills, California, and originally began as America’s first free internet service provider. NetZero offered free internet, which was paid for by advertising. The company gained 1 million users within the first 6 months and by late 1999, the company became went public on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol NZRO.

In late 1999 and early 2000, others began to copy NetZero’s formula for free internet with targeted advertising. Companies such as Juno, AltaVista, and BlueLight cut into NetZero’s customer base. In 2005, the company dropped their advertising bar and turned to a monthly fee based service. In 2012, NetZero launched their DSL service line, although the company claims they still had more than 750,000 dial up users.

NetZero is a subsidairy of United Online service, which purchased many of the formerly “free”internet providers, including BlueLight and AltaVista.

Well once again it is painfully obvious netzero call center does not want me as a customer again. I was so angry before after being told the reason why dsl was not activated was because AT&T worker was denied access except no worker was ever here. Then I was told the work order had to be sent again meaning another 8-10 or 10-14 business days (it changed often) before it could be activated. Well at that point I said no. Then I found out at&t was still coming out. The tech was here. Line is cleared. Dsl activated. So I think.. OK. This was what they said needed to happen. But nope. I have to start over. Why? The line has to be cleared. The dsl has to be activated.. Do I want to scream? Yes. Worst company ever. And considering I have had to do business with AT&T, Comcast & the #1 rated worst cable provider in the country.. Netzero is the worst. Guess corporate does not care one but as this call center by not actually providing customer service saves them money. Liars. Zero stars. Zero is in their name. Now I get it.. They are living down to their name.

I can not believe how this company just lies & there is no recourse at all. Tell them I verified AT&T never came here never had a work order.. Never sent netzero a notice saying they were denied access.. Does not matter. Order was resubmitted so I am waiting another 8 – 14 business days for.. What? I already told you at&t is not coming here for a netzero dsl.. And the netzero dsl was already working.. Just a load of stinking smelly crap. Again she insisted at&t had to.. I said & do WHAT? I know this isn’t making any sense to anyone. I have no functioning brain anymore after dealing with the worst scum. But the worst thing is this is for my brother. My debit card was compromised & by the time I got a new one & straightened out my other bills I found out the netzero had been disconnected. Then was td I had to wait a week before anything could even be started. Then they submitted the request under my name which I told them was not correct. Not my phone line. Anyway.. This is absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with & I am nearly 66 years old. I’ve got technical experience as we as a former government worker. I’ve run into my fair share of people who create problems but I’ve always been able to find someone who understood what to do & got it done. Not always the same day but reasonable. But to be lied to about why this service was not activated like I was told would happen the night before was because of a fabricated denial of access to the phone junction box.. Then just have this supervisor, KC something (I threw my notebook across the floor) then continue to insist an AT&T person has to come out here.. And round & round we go. This is why people lose it & do things they normally wouldn’t think about doing. Call centers in another country with made up names. And because our options are in their power we find out there are no options. We have an insane president with the intellectual abilities of a gnat who has filled positions with people who want themselves & their billionaire friends to get more $, we can’t even file complaints against these companies thanks to Ajit Pai or whatever his mane is.i just know this is not right & I didn’t do anything too deserve being treated like I committed some crime. Glad I’m getting old so I dont have to see how much worse things are going to get. I don’t think I could take it. Stay as far away from this company as you can.

I have not received a refund. It has been 13 days and they keep telling me 4 more days.
It is Kevin who I spoke to at number 310-424-4000.
I went and called netzero. They took a $55 payment. They then said it is through century link. They then said they cannot give me internet because supposedly my friend paid the $55 and they took the money but then ran my friends name on the card and now saying I cannot get internet. Kevin keeps saying my money is back in, then say itll be a few days then itll be back in 20 minutes, then says 4 more days. They kept saying they will call us back. They said call century link to get my refund. I contact them and they dont have a clue who I am and have no information. THIS IS A SCAM. I should be refunded as well as compensated for the hassle and waste of time due to all of this.

Hi, netzero. I just would like to know at this time. If your internet broadband works in a 3g network or in a 4g network? Hope to hear soon from you and thank in advance. Bye.
