My husband is not a happy camper right now. Just left NAPA in Rochester Wa, trying to buy a brake hose. Giving the hose to be matched up to a new one, the sales person refused to even take the hose, wanted to know what make and model number the hose was needed for, or they couldn’t sell it too him. If he knows what he needs, why does it matter what it is going on. when he finally told him what it was for, he flat out told my husband nothing he had there would work, without even looking. We do like to stay local and support our town and the businesses. But your NAPA has definitely lost his business, as well as mine. If this is the way your company runs a business, no wonder businesses don’t stay long in a small town. too bad. He will go out of town if need be for parts. Never to deal with NAPA Rochester again.
John D Crumbacker says
I am very sorry to hear that. However, brake hoses, i.e. caliper hoses, are not able to be looked up in our system without a vehicle to search with. We are able to bring up all the brake hoses in our system, but finding a match in this fashion is not definite and very time consuming. Our counterman should have explained this better to your husband. Again, I apologize and I hope that you will give us another chance to service you.

For way less money and aggravation and loss of my own business time ( 100 am hour) you my mistake for expecting a good customer experience in Lansdale’s broad streets location. There are two Napa Auto parts stores in Oregon that seem to have taken a dislike to me and let me explain why. I was in the Newberg Napa Store and I had been standing in line for probably 20 minutes and when I got to the front of the line Chris was standing there looking at me and the phone rang and he answered it and helped the person who had just called instead of helping me and I let him know I didn’t appreciate it. Since that time he has hung up on me in the middle of phone conversations about seeing if they have the parts I need. When I go in the Newberg Napa its very apparent that people have been Brought up to speed that I am a troublemaker and am treated with little to no regard. Now yesterday I was standing in the Sherwood Napa Store looking for some electrical components and there was some smarta** standing behind the counter running his mouth at my cost being a complete and utter a** while the Store Manager stood there and allowed this Bullshi*t to continue. If I were the District Manager of these two stores I would walk in very publicly and fire the store managers of both of these stores and give the reigns to the assistant store managers and let them know exactly why the Store Managers were fired. Your Organization is a Customer Service Business and its time for someone to get this kind of Good Old Boy BS under control. I build a lot of old vehicles and I buy a lot of parts so if you want me to go down the road to Auto Zone or O’Rileys then just ignore this, but if you actually give a sh*t about this behavior then do something about it.

I worked for Napa for almost three years as a counterman, keyholder/PIC. On the days I worked I would close the store. I was responsible for the operation of the store, it’s employees, and completing the end of day reports.
I recently felt it was necessary to quit my job over an issue regarding employee rights. It seems Napa is more concerned about profits, than the rights and welfare of their employees. I would like to discuss this matter with the head of Napa’s Human resource Department. Could you please send me contact information of the person I should discuss this matter with. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help, and your time.

NAPA Auto Parts
126 Pendleton Street SW

had an electrical fire on October 8, 2016. Store owner Gary Hamman of Aiken SC collected insurance on the destroyed store and inventory contents of auto parts. After receiving a settlement from his insurance Mr. Hammon then sold the entire contents of The NAPA Auto Parts Store in Aiken SC for a large sum bought and paid for by
Tracy Todd
86 Boardwalk Drive
Ridgeland SC 29936
Mr. Todd owns five NAPA Auto Parts -The Parts House businesses.
Locations are Okatie SC, Beaufort SC, Hardeeville SC, Hilton Head Island SC, and Rincon GA.
Mr. Todd paid employees of his stores to travel to Aiken SC in his own NAPA company vans, as well as rented UHAUL vans to transport the parts that were removed from the burnt NAPA Auto Parts store in Aiken SC.
The employees of Mr. Todd were hired by himself to clean the parts in effort to remove smut so that they may be placed on the shelves in his 5 stores to sale. He also had other former NAPA employees obtain new boxes and containers for the parts that were damaged. Mr. Todd has stored the parts and over the past two years filtered them through his stores, through three of his other LLC businesses as well as sending them back to the NAPA Distribution Center in Columbia SC for product refund.
I have come forward with this information for the concern and safety of others who by no fault of there own may have bought such parts and could be in harms way or be harmed by the NAPA Auto Parts – The Parts House companies.

Want to inform NAPA that they need to check their employees knowledge out a little better. I went into my local NAPA to buy a alternator pulley for a Prestolite brand alternator, Me not being a mechanic took a picture of what I needed. I did not have a old unit to go by because it had been removed by the previous owner. I was sold a 3 ” bearing with a ball bearing center. Seemed odd to me but I installed it on the alternator causing the alternator to burn out. I had just purchased it from eBay for my 2007 cub cadet 4 x 4 UTV. it came with the fan and nut and bolt buy no pulley. She should have ordered a 3.3 inch single V solid pulley. I will no longer shop[ NAPA and will highly recommend my friends shop elsewhere as well.

Save yourself a whole bunch of trouble. AA Auto Care aka Napa Auto Care, is an absolute joke. They have locations all over Las Vegas. On Saturday, 06.15.2019 I took my damn near New Nissan Truck in for a simple, routine 3000 mile oil change and by the time I got it home I had oil all over the underside of the truck and all over my garage. I took it back immediately the next morning. They had it up on the lift for an hour. The self proclaimed shop manager said that it was all fixed and all cleaned up for me. It was not. By the time I got home again, 2 miles mind you, I see that they still could not remedy what they ruined the first time. I went back a THIRD time and requested the Corporate address. The shop manager, (I think he thought he was a manager anyway) basically told me tough sh*t. Have a nice day. I would HIGHLY discourage AA Autocare, Napa Care, and/or Napa Autoparts for that matter. If this is the type of untrained professionals NAPA hires, I would not do business with them either. My truck is still leaking oil all over the garage and all over the engine. 13,000 miles and not drivable. Thank You AA Autocare. Let’s see IF BIG corporate gives a damn when I contact them tomorrow. Unless they contact me here first. IDGAF. I’m absolutely outraged.

Then I was lectured to save my receipt and told he would do nothing for me. Come back on Monday when manager is in tree store and have no car for a few more days.

delivery contractor IC says
the NAPA distribution center in Knoxville, TN, uses a delivery contractor to deliver mid-day parts to NAPA stores throughout the area. The delivery contractor uses independent contractors (me and 6 other drivers) to deliver the parts using the IC’s personal vehicle and gas. The person that owns the delivery company has a bad habit of getting behind on paying IC then writes bad checks. Last week was my first week to run the longest route. I had bought a mini cargo van for the job. I got my first check Monday afternoon and it was not good. It was still not good Wednesday. She is now into my pocket for a week’s pay plus the gas that I have spent. Sad thing is NAPA is very aware of the situation, has had drivers to walk off the job but allows her to operate anyway. Shame on NAPA to allow and condone such a bad situation.

Ive gone into Brodhead Wi. Napa parts store which is the only parts store in the small town & ask for parts using the name the auto maker specifically calls them & even show them a picture of the part, several times I’ve been told they dont have or cant get the parts & ask if l brought the part with after showing them a picture. Then l call the Monroe Wi store & ask for the same part using the same name or discription & am told they have the parts or can get them without seeing the actual part, l go in & the correct part is waiting for me. I bring up the problem I’ve experienced with Brodhead Napa, im told no need to explain & that they hear it all the time & they specifically ask if I’m talking about Jeff ? Of couse l say yes. So many times lve wanted to take the parts Brodhead Napa says then cant get or cant or find back into the store & put it on the counter & say, theres the so called part that you could find by its correct name & that you say isn’t avalible & you cant get. Dont they realize the business they’re losing??
On another ocation, an elderly gentleman walked in & ask for a fuse for his power widow or something, im no exactly sure anymore what it was but Jeff said well l dont kno what fuse you need, do you have the fuse, the gentleman said no, l come in before & told them what my car was & they give me the fuse, Jeff said l need to kno the type of fuse you need. I said ill help you sir & walked out & pulled the panel off & show the gentleman how to do it & how everything was listed then showed him how to use the fuse puller thats also inclosed in the panel & how to use it & check the fuse to be sure it was a fuse. The gentleman stated to me “shouldnt they know what l needed or told me how to check to see what l needed?” What do you all think? Please all of you that have had the same experience With Brodhead Napa cause yr told they dont have & cant get your part get then you go to the Monroe store & your part is waiting please make posts & even call the corporate offices & make a complaint as lm doing. The Mark in this story is a Marine veteran who is suffering through heavy radiation treatment in a last ditch attempt to beat his cancer. Today 9/7/2017 the family were diverted for hours because of the forest fires in the Columbia River Gorge and stopped in Packwood to give Mark a short break.
I own a couple of businesses in Oregon and I understand the need to cover your costs and make a profit but to do it with this attitude is not acceptable to me and I feel that the person in question needs to be called out for his behavior. He brings dishonor to the Napa name.
Below is the narrative that I received through a website Caring Bridge that his wife uses to keep family and friends updated on Mark’s condition.
“Okay, so leaving Packwood, almost. Mark managed to get the car keys locked inside the car. Lez called the Fire Department (as if they are not most busy right now) and they told her to walk across the street to the Napa Auto Parts store. So we did. Welcome to price gouging! The gentleman behind the counter obviously owned the Napa Store. Price to get keys out of car $79.00 before tax. Lez begs him to lower the price. He sees a couple of suckers………..NOPE……..firm $79.00. He suggests we call AAA (as he is snickering) and AAA is a 2 -3 hour wait. They sensed another desperate situation. SO………….Napa guy comes across the street, through the partly open front window he is able to unlock the passenger door………opens it up and BAM……..the car alarm is shrieking loudly. The gentleman drops the keys on the pavement and I am shaking as I try to turn off the alarm. At least we know it works. He is snickering as he walks me across the hwy to his store to pay up. $86.19 with Washington tax.”

I am attempting to get in touch with someone in payroll or human resources. I was employed by Napa through a private contractor. Though my employment was rather brief and ultimately my discharge was completely of my own doing. I did perform work for the company and should be paid for the hours worked. It is now 1week past the scheduled pay day, which would of been September 1st 2017. When I inquired about my pay check on that day, I was lied to and told that payroll wouldn’t be reported untill that following Monday. Which was not only a week later then it was actually reported it also landed on a holiday. I have since attempted to contact both my immediate supervisor as well as the individual who holds the contract with Napa and the City of Oxford, Alabama. I have been given the run around by both parties and when I have asked for contact information for Napa human resources, I have again been given the run around. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could either please contact me or atleast respond to this inquiry. My name is Thomas Mikus and my cell# is (205) 405-XXXXX. I took my car to 3rd Street Auto in Wray CO, which is a Napa business, because it was having issues, I asked them to give me a full diagnostic and tell me any problems. They charged me $80 for the diagnosic and told me all it needed was a tuneup and I ended up paying $500 for a tune up and diagnostic. Only a couple weeks later it started dying for no reason, and when I called them to ask them to find out why, they said I’d need to pay another $80 for a new diagnostic, on top of the $500 I already paid a couple of weeks prior when they gave me a clean bill of health.
I complained and they were extremely unprofessional and hung up on me. I will never use 3rd Street Auto again. I’ll probably save myself a lot of time and money in not doing so. They’re giving Napa a bad name.

I took a Lexus LX470 axle shaft in for a bearing, collar and ,backing plate to be pressed off, I knew they had done this in the past. JT told me he thought he could have it done but he didn’t know the cost. I said call me when you got it apart, a few hours latter he called and said it was all apart and ready for pick up. When I received the parts back the backing plate looked like a pretzel and the 3/8 in thick cast steel bearing housing was bent, the parts were destroyed , JT said I don’t know what to tell you, and shrugged his shoulders, Terry The manager tried to find a used one to no avail and said he could only spend 100 dollars, The both pretended like I was now a ghost and was no longer a customer, consumer or even a person.
I was directed to calling Tyrone, the district manager, who told me it was my responsibility and my fault and I quote, “We don’t just hand out 500 dollars for broken parts” .Which is what Toyota quoted to replace the parts.
This is a small town in Franklin Tn. and the owner of the Lexus knows a lot of important people , its a shame and poor customer service that usually lead to the demise of a business.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing from a district rep.

I posted earlier but the story just gets worse. On-line description claims that the product services 6 volt batteries so I bought it. When I got it, instructions say that it is for a 12 volt battery. I emailed customer support twice asking for authority to return the unit for credit. No reply first time. Second time they gave me a number for technical issues rather than letting me return the unit. All I want is my money back in return for an unusable product. The technical office can’t help with false advertising and if they want me to talk with them, why don’t they call me instead of giving me the run around. I called my credit card company, filed a complaint and stopped payment.

The exchange below is fairly self explanatory. NAPA customer service wants to have me run around to get a solution rather than their doing the homework. I think that is unresponsive.
The exchange is best read from the bottom up. I went only CHAT before sending the email and had the same result. I did not buy the product from a store. I bought it on-line.

Purchased cv-axle for my 93 Toyota Corolla in 2012. The cv-axle was new not remanufactured. Have original receipt from purchase. Contacted my local Napa auto parts in South Lake Tahoe CA spoke with Jeremy. This person is extremely rude and raised his voice with me and said he can’t and won’t help me. Asked for a manager and Jeremy said there is no manager here. Then out of nowhere said screw off. Nice thanks a lot Napa auto parts. I will never shop with your corporation ever again. I will make sure my family, friends & my clients never step foot in any of your locations.
VERY IMMATURE AND RUDE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THANKS

I feel that All About Auto Care at 11529 West Bell Rd., Surprise, AZ 85374 should lose their NAPA affiliation. We put our ’08 Mustang Bullitt in that shop because it was “missing”. The owner of the shop, John Shoults rode our car hard and blew the engine. He kept the car for 3 weeks, pretending to try to find an engine for us, at his expense. At the end of 3 weeks, he called us and said that he wouldn’t be paying for the engine! He doesn’t deserve to represent NAPA.

I HAVE BEEN A NAPA AUTO CARE SINCE 1993,I HAVE TECH OF THE AWARDS FROM NAPA FOR ABOUT THE LAST 15 YEARS. THOSE AWARDS MET A LOT TO ME BECAUSE IT REPERISENTED THE QUALITY OF WORK THAT WAS DONE AT MY SHOP AND THAT I USED THE BEST OF THE BEST PARTS THAT NAPA HAD TO OFFER.NOW IT SEEMS THAT IF A PARTS WE INSTALL BY NAPA LAST MORE THAT A YEAR WERE DOING GOOD. IS THIS THE NEW NORM FOR GET THE GOOD STUFF ?. IT DOSE NOT MATTER WHAT PART IT IS THE QUALITY IS JUST NOT THERE AND WHEN I BRING IT TO THE ATENTION OF NAPA SYRACUSE IT SEAMS TO FALL ON DEF EARS. IT IS A SHAME THAT NAPA HAS LOST THAT COMMITTMENT TO THE NAPA AUTO CARES, (REMEMBER WE HAVE NAPA ON OUR SIGNS ALSO). MIKE CRETATO`S NAPA AUTOCARE CENTER.

My husband went to one of your napa stores to order a starter for his troybilt riding mower. He took them all numbers off of engine and the old starter. They ordered it and when he picked it up and made final payment he showed them that next to the old one, it didn’t look like it would work. The new starter was considerably shorter than the old one. They said it should work. When my husband connected the new starter it would not crank the mower. He has no trouble cranking the mower with a pull string so he knew it was the wrong starter. He took it back with all numbers off of engine again and asked them to please reorder proper starter. Then I was appalled at their response, “I am just going to refund you your money. Seems like you have a problem”. This was not the way to treat a customer. We will no longer do business with them ever. Our money and ourselves are worth better treatment than that. The store I am aiming my complaint is at 704 Hill Street, Ellisville, MS

we have been trying to open a company account with NAPA this week and you make it impossible! My general Manager filled out the app. and it was rejected because he failed to give you his full ss number. This country club has been here for over 90 years with a perfect credit history. I am the equipment manager and wanted to change to Napa from Baxter auto parts for the service Napa gives but you have made it impossible. Why would an employee use his personal info to guaranty payment for a company account??? RIDICULOUS
