The new company was focused on developing the diesel engine, which had been invented 20 years earlier.

In 1933 the Model H engines was introduced, and was used in small railroad switchers.

Today Cummins Inc. designs, manufactures,  and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products. The company also services engines and other related equipment, including fuel systems, filtration, emission controls, and electrical power generation systems.

The company’s engines are either diesel or natural gas-powered and are for the heavy and mid-duty truck, RV, automotive, and industrial markets as well as construction, mining, rail, and marine.
