Humdingers Restaurant was founded in 2009 in Cordova, Tennessee, by Alan Schlesinger and Chris Smith. They originally were going to open a BoneHeads franchise, but decided that what they really wanted was to create a restaurant that was different from every other American restaurant.
The company operates a chain of casual dining restaurants, which mainly feature South African entrees and spices. The company is perhaps best known for a peppery spice called piri-piri, which is commonly used in South African cooking. Meals are mainly based on chicken and fish. Although the company does not serve wine or hard liquor, they do offer several beers, including Samuel Adams.
Today, Humdingers Restaurant has 3 locations and has plans to expand to 3 more, although dates have not been set.

As above comments…we were way overcharged and did not receive detailed bill…brought this to the cashiers attention…stone silence!!!!! Had to ask several times for serve ware… Staff not friendly or helpful …on top of being overcharged and not a single apology or explanation offered! Will not return and as you should be aware the negatives spread very quickly.

Bad experience, rude management and staff in PARAMUS NJ and the worst part is I emailed Corp and they had the nerve not to respond?!

I am more than frustrated with the poor service I received at the Humdingers on Poplar. My to go order was wrong TWICE–after I waited more than 20 minutes for tilapia and zucchini. The place was not crowded and there were plenty of people working. More frustrating than that was the fact that it took 10 minutes for the manager to come to speak with me (I wanted my money back after the second wrong order) and the only apology I got was the one he mumbled as he handed my money back. Not one person behind the counter bothered to apologize (and I interacted with at least 3 of them during this), even as they told me they were having the manager come out. The entire staff needs to be retrained.

Today was my first time coming to a Humdinger’s restaurant, and I was very disappointed. I ordered the mahi mahi meal with rice and zucchini. The fish was over cooked. The top of the fish was black and hard. I didn’t realize it until after I left the restaurant. I spent $17.24 plus a tip for basically rice because the fish was inedible. I am a nursing student on a very tight budget, but I decided to treat myself to a nice meal before midterms. Big mistake. I would hope my meal today doesn’t reflect the overall quality of cuisine coming for your restaurants.
