    I have not got paid for a 8 hour shift and I’m very upset because this is very illegal for a store to shut down without paying you your check. I’m very disappointed and if I don’t get my money sooner I will be taking this to court because I’m not the only employee. My number is 404621XXXX

    I am a former employee of Halloween City in Salem, Oregon (the location off Lancaster Drive) and I was fired for reading my doctors note aloud to another employee while we were both on break. Earlier I had asked the assistant manager (Kia) when we were going on lunch three hours into my shift because I have had difficulty with my Multiple Sclerosis lately. She told me “O hadn’t been there long” amd that “there was no reason I’d need a break the early in my shift (though I had never requested a break). I brought up to her that i was having blurry vision and trouble with my balance. Around 45 minutes later we went on 15 minute breaks and I got my doctors note out of my car. I proceeded to read it to another employee to ask if I was in the wrong. She interrupted me reading the note to the other employee and continued to argue that I didnt need to be accommodated. After attempting to point out where it says I may need breaks she told me to just leave and that I was fired. As I was leaving I asked for the district managers number (Dave) and she refused to give me his number or information to get ahold of corporate. I have never felt so disciminated against in my life. Might I also add the constant marijuana smoking of both managers and employees while ON THE CLOCK at the location. I have the screenshots of my general manager (Louie) asking if I had a bong and if i could bring it into work. I would appreciate this issue being addressed. Thank you.

    I need help reporting your Livonia store in Michigan regarding illegal activity with your manager Tyler. First I was asked in the interview what I desired as a pay rate and I requested 11.00 an hour and was told that he could get me at least 10.00 because I came so late in the season. But my paperwork I received after I was put in the system( which was just on 10/20/2019) said 9.68. Not sure why I was not put in the system on my very 1st day. I was told that it takes 4 to 5 days. He did not ask for my ID or SSC. I was told that I had to fill out an application online for his particular store in Livonia (which I had already filled out one on line through the Halloween City’s website) I worked 2 days and asked if I was put in the system. Tyler said that it would be by Friday the 10/18/19. My son had gotten sick on Wednesday so I went to the office with my doctor papers on 10/16/2019. I told him I could work a half day but not a full due to my son’s illness. He told me to just take the whole day off. He never asked for my SSC or ID. I had no clue of when pay day was. My 1st day he told me to come at 9:00 am and didn’t show up until 9:45am. He forgot the time he told me to show up. He said he thought he told me 9am but he didn’t. It has been confusion since day one. I was off on 10/17/19 and returned to work on 10/18/19 which was a Friday. I asked Tyler if I would be put in the system and he told me no it takes 4 to 5 days(for the 2nd time) because his system was slow. I worked 10/18/19 and still was not put in the system. At the end of my shift I got sick. I texted Tyler and told him I would not be able to make it on 10/19/19(which I was working a half day because my son had been sick) he did not respond to my text. On 10/20/19 I got a text from Tyler at 9:16am saying that I am on the schedule for the day. I called the Dearborn store and spoke to a manager to ask questions regarding my concerns and was told that it only takes a few minutes to put me in the system. So not sure why it was never done. I expressed my concern to him and he gave me a lot of info. I called Tyler after I got out of church around 2pm and asked if I would be put in the system and he said it takes time and he also said he asked for my ID and SSC which was a lie. He never did until 10/20/19 after my complaint. This email proves that.

    So I was recently demoted due to bad cash handling. It ended up all the mixup in the computer which I was not properly trained on and when I would call my manager to help me fix it. She would say it’s too long of a drive and I’m tired will deal with it tomorrow. Their cash security sucks. When I was being trained and counting till’s the manager had her boyfriend in the office. The other assistant manager even had the audacity to ask her boyfriend to reach into the safe to grab the deposit. I have pride myself in my cash handling and being able to train people properly and not just throw them to the wolves and let them sink or swim as I manage the casino for six years and cash security was top priority. I would never recommend working for this company as they break so many rules and will blame them on the under employees. If it till it’s counted and it’s over they take the money out so their cash is right on. But this company doesn’t seem to care about their cash security. They need to get someone better Equipped to train new assistant managers and associates and make sure that everyone understands what they are doing. And I would definitely recommend drug and alcohol test for their managers. Since my manager reeks of alcohol every time she comes in.

    So this store in idaho falls doesnt follow labor laws, the store manager is the most unprofessional person i have ever met. She listens to 16yr olds gossip and then text people that they have no job while they are off the clock and changes ther schedule without 48hrs notice which is illegal, doesnt talk to the employee about the problem before making her decision, wont let employees go to the bathroom unless they are on break and wont let employees stock frieght to floor. How the hell do you make sales from the back room. She also hires peop ln e and tells them to come to work doesnt.add them to the schedule then when they get there to work cause they where told they needed to be there sends them home cause they are not on the schedule. They wonder why Spirit Halloween is doing better. They pay more, thier store is better organized, their employees are trained and they sell a superior product in what the customers want and dont use the ploy that we can peice something together that will work. Unfortunately that after being in Idaho falls for the last 5+ years they still havent figured out how to run a business or what it takes to compete with other retailers. They hire management that manages the business down to what they can handle and not increase sales. They Also have one of the assistants children working in the store not being paid and one of them is like 10 violation of labor laws and i am sure the company insurance wouldnt cover if something happened while they where on the ladder. This is the type of company that should be reported and banned from every state for having poor ethics and practices.

    I went in for an interview I was given the job and I even recieved an email with my start date and everything. Then I get a text the day before I’m suppose to start and my job is basically just ripped from my arms for no good reason at all. Because this women who is manager at halloween city in dalton ga thinks its some kind of game to give me a keyholder job and then take it from me. I’m suing Halloween city for this stupidity. I have already spoken with my lawyer about it.

    It seems to me that it is at least borderline bait and switch that your stores have in shop and online signage proclaiming up to ( in smaller lettering ) a percentage off ( that part of the enticement in LARGER letters ) for after halloween clearance, yet in a brick and mortar storefront just after Halloween, I purchased a large amount of items at same only to later realise NOT ONE SINGLE MERCHANDISE I BOUGHT was more than 30 percent off. My purchases ran a gamut from hars to prop pieces to decor. You would think SOMETHING in such a large and varied order would be the boldly teased upper percentage. I feel rather deceived by this disparity between marketing and final sale, and would very much appreciate some rectification from this company’s upper management ( as they oversee the general policies of advertising, pricing, etc )?
    Do you lot plan to just let this kind of disservice stand as your implied manner of business, or will you step up to prove you aren’t simply about fast profit, even when it hurts the customer and potentially your reputation?

    I assist with all store responsibilities this pass 2K17… Hall?ween City, Hall?ween Season, in a timely maner & in a orderly fashion, So why dont my hours correspond that?     I work at the south Portland Maine mall Halloween city store and we was all promise overtime is we close the store for the last 3 days and I did not get the Overtime I was promise I’ve tries emailing the corporate company and I have not heard any back I’m in the process of contacting the labor board

    Who’s stupid idea is it to have the store doors open all the time at an out door mall. It’s been 90 degrees outside, people go into the stores to get a little ac while shopping, not sweat their butts off. Stupid management!

    I was hired on as an ast. manager at the Halloween City Chris Town Phoenix location…i worked in the same store last year as Ast. Manager as well… Well,i have been advised that our store last year was the lowest profit in all the stores by my current manager. But i was unaware of that last year.
    Anyway i quit my 2nd job at Lil Ceasers because i was getting good hrs. at Halloween City and I was struggling to recall every duty I was suposed to forfill as Ast. Manager and i wanted to focus on my Ast. Manager position.
    I have bad Dyslexia and A.D.D. ..i told my manager. And she told me she has A.D.D. as well.
    I also let her know how i need to be retrained in a hands on way because of my mental illnesses. I advised her i was trained the way i needed to be last year and i did well. But she refused to train me and meet my acommodations and instead of working with me, she demotted me, because, she explained, that she has a quota to meet this year of three times the expected quota of last year, n that she has all the people above her hounding her n putting pressure on her. She told me she doesnt have time to train me so i was being demotted.

    Honestly the other assistant manager and my manager are very alike in personality. They take lunch together and hide in the office n plan things together n shut me out since i been working with them. I asked to set up interviews and my manager wouldnt give me any responcabilitys..she let the other Ast. Manager, “Christina” handle it all.. Also Christina would tell me what to do as if she wasnt my equal…
    Im not trying to get yo personal but last week i started my monthly cycle and my manager tried to demote me for to many bathroom brakes and for extended bathroom usage when i wasnt even in there for more then 10mins tops each trip. i was treated so badly. And im very upset about the entire situation.

    I have been with Halloween City for 6 year and each year has been a Disappointment. Each year we can not decorate the stores. This year I have moved over to spirit and will be a GM. I would love to stay with Halloween City but the it is going downhill.

    Hi I was employed at you hwy 9 N. In Milton Ga location during the Halloween season 2016. I am in the process of having to make a emergency change of location due to family illness back home in Al. I had two other jobs but I have doXXXXents of income earned to file taxes to srcure resources to move back to care for ailing family member. I have tried to contact the card I was given which my earningsveere sent to fofor history if earnings I did that a month and a half ago, still haven’t received it.
